Regards from China. One of the 1st games entered Chinese market after WTO in 2002.(others are Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3) I remember none of my friends computer can run it smoothly back then guess that's why the sales was so low. Still trying to beat it with super low fps. Used barbarian, was tough but was the happiest experience in my life. Imagine jumping from Nintendo FC to this game, mindblowing. But no other games offers me same expeirance until darksouls

I even think that it is more enjoyable that you are getting hit by enemies, instead of playing perfect. You have an overall good understanding of the game and its mechanics. It's easier to drop Dwarf and Knight weapons as they are used by enemies as well. With Takuram you have to think about dropping and old weapon same goes for Zoe. With Zoe you can just stick to the high level weapon and use that whirl wind ability and you're good to go

Agreed, Sargon's and Nagelfar's weapons are common, while Zoe and Tukaram are rather exotic. The Whirlwind ability is pretty weak, but there are specific weapons that have 3 steps special attacks (the red ones), which people prefer to use over attacks such as the whirlwind (the yellow ones).

Still playing this game nowadays once in a while. Finished it with all characters multiple times and it never gets old :D The reason I searched for a playthrough with the dwarf though is that with all the weapons and characters, I never managed to do the special move demolition with the last weapon, the doom hammer. I thought the game was broken but now I saw you doing it, so either my game version is bugged or I am just too stupid... But since the move with the spiked club is almost exactly the same and no problem for me, I guess my game must be bugged.

Hey Dennis, thanks for the comment. You're doing nothing wrong my friend, the dwarf is just that much of a defective character. I mentioned it in the Knight's playthrough. Check it out if you've got the chance. The dwarf is just an unfinished character.

@@dennism.5145 What a coincidence, I'm also playing the game for about the fifth time, but first one with the dwarf and he isn't that bad, except some weapons that have toothpick range lol. He got really nice blunt weapons though, I'm also saving the Venom hammer until I unlock the special attack, allways wanted to see that. I still play this game because of the nostalgia it gives me and its really great combat and atmosphere (amazing soundtracks too). I used to watch my dad play this game when I was a kid (about 5-6) and now I'm playing it myself (18), I just love it :) wish they made a remaster/sequel.

Love the Dwarf, I think he's pretty underrated and much better than the Barbarian. Also, even though the Knight controls better, I do prefer the Dwarf weapon set. With the Ice hammer there's no enemy that can stand in your way.

Heya Rocko, thanks for the comment. Problem with the Dwarf is the fact that his final weapon is blunt. Unfortunately, many enemies are resistant to blunt attacks. Making him less effective than others. I do love his design though.

@@fullgametherapy That's true but at the end of the game you can just spam the special attack from the sword of Ianna. Plus the Ice Hammer has the best returns when using it's special attack so I didn't use his final weapon much.

The parchment the knights gives you at tel-halaf which cointains the last orders of the duke... can you somehow read it? I didnt check my inventory at that time, and now I am quite unsure as to what the parchments really was intended to do

I don't recall you can actually read those. They're just key items that you need in order to have a lead in your path towards the source of evil (there is another 1 in Efira). Also, items in inventory can't be zoomed. Hope I managed to answer your question?

Nice video! I have two questions, why in dal gurak's tower u never jump to the acid way? Also, i think that in ianna's temple, on the last minotaurus fight, if u jump to the left u can find a potion, but i dont remember this, maybe im wrong

Hey Cheis! well, as for your acid path question, the only reason you should take it is to get the Armory Key - To pick the last set of armor pieces and weapon for your character. I took the longer path to gain more experience, but eventually dropped down to the last part of the acid path. That way I managed to get the key and get more experience. As for the potion, well, the only thing I can do is apologize for not finding it, if it is actually there ^^'. Hope you got the answer you were looking for, Alex.

@@fullgametherapy haha that's what i was thinking im watching gameplays and playing with all characters amd the dwarf is just so annoying with the buggy hits that don't hit and the short jump range and btw you can cancel combo animations by clicking jump while perfoming an atack to quickly skip to the next part of the combo not that it matters cause you played all four characters but good videos anyway

It's sad that I can't put more likes. I wonder if you could do an equivalent walkthrough for any class by using only non-class related weapons(like a dwarf with a polearm or knight with two-handed).

Thanks for sharing your love my friend 😊 I think it can be done, the issue is that middle and high class weapons are class specific. So dealing with an enemy on higher levels can take quite a while 🥴

I'm glad to read you found a video from my list of videos helpful :) The combination should actually be very simple, if memory serves, it should be a forward strike followed by the forward key. If not, it should be somewhere in the video (when I pick it up). If not, I'll look it up for you when I'll get back home in a few days 😁

When I play with Naglfar or Sargon, I carry Queen's sword with me till the Dal Gurak's tower. It's special attack used on living enemies (orcs, trolls, minotaurs, living knights) regenerates health, making the playthrough much easier.

Also, I recommend checking for mighty dwarf mod for this game - lots of bugfixes, weapon combos for dwarf, alternative special moves for certain weapons, droppable bows (as well as two new bows), feels like a more polished game overall.

@@stfonstream Yeah you actually can, I picked all secret items with Sargon and Naglfar in their respective playthroughs, check them out if you wanna know exactly where :) Probably the easiest secret to miss was the poisonous hammer for Naglfar and the bracelet in Ephyra.

I'm playing it right now with a controller on PC and it just takes practice. Unlike Dark Souls or similar, this game does not give you invincibility frames when dodging so keep in mind that if you happen to dodge where the enemy is attacking you're going to take damage.

Barbarian was harder for me, Dwarf was more frustrating. As buggy as the Dwarf is, he's still nimbler, and in my opinion, it's more important than brute strength.

You are quite correct (I thought you were completely wrong): Tolkien said he wanted to make a distinction from Dwarfs. From Appendix F... "It may be observed that in this book as in The Hobbit the form dwarves is used, although the dictionaries tell us that the plural of dwarf is dwarfs. It should be dwarrows (or dwerrows), if singular and plural had each gone its own way down the years, as have man and men, or goose and geese. But we no longer speak of a dwarf as often as we do of a man, or even of a goose, and memories have not been fresh enough among Men to keep hold of a special plural for a race now abandoned to folk-tales, where at least a shadow of truth is preserved, or at last to nonsense-stories in which they have become mere figures of fun. But in the Third Age something of their old character and power is still glimpsed, if already a little dimmed; these are the descendants of the Naugrim of the Elder Days, in whose hearts still burns the ancient fire of Aulë the Smith, and the embers smoulder of their long grudge against the Elves; and in whose hands still lives the skill in work of stone that none have surpassed.
