See I knew it was coming this season, and I knew they wouldn’t end the season with it (they’ve got some crazy ass shit cooked up for the ending for sure), but I thought we wouldn’t see him reintegrate until around episode 5 or 6. I was totally shocked that it happened so early on. The dynamic going forward is going to be super interesting. Helly is gone (for now) and Helena is in her place, Mark just reintegrated, and I think Irving is next, leaving only Dylan severed (well Helena is still severed it’s just deactivated currently). My guess as to why Irving gets reintegrated is because, from the trailers we see that he is getting “retired”, that will likely be either because he finds the Testing Floor with Felicia and rides the elevator down OR Felicia turns him in. They’ll think he knows too much to continue working here and they’ll retire him. Outie Irving will realize his innie made it to the testing floor and/or saw something he wasn’t supposed to, so he will get reintegrated and be able to help the anti-severance groups and Mark to figure out what’s down there and tell them what he saw. It’s likely that by the end of the season Dylan is the only one still truly, completely Severed. The question is, will he turn on his friends completely (right now he’s just abstaining from things) just to keep visiting his wife and keep his job? Or will he risk his family losing all the benefits/healthcare to do what is right and help his friends bring this companies crazy shit to light?

What if Ricken and his eccentric little circle are actually failed Lumon experiments? Maybe before they perfected severance, Lumon was trying to manufacture the “perfect” people-new Kier disciples built from the ground up. Instead of just splitting work and personal selves, they experimented with full personality reconstruction, wiping past identities and implanting new ones. But it didn’t work the way they hoped. The results were… off. Ricken and his friends aren’t normal, but they also aren’t useful enough for Lumon to keep. So they were quietly discarded, set loose into the world with these exaggerated, almost cartoonish personalities. They think they’re enlightened intellectuals, but really, they’re the mess-ups, the ones who didn’t turn out right. And maybe, deep down, Ricken knows something’s wrong. His obsession with self-improvement, his almost desperate need to be seen as a great thinker-what if it’s just his subconscious trying to fill the gaps left by whatever Lumon did to him? Also, if you notice, Lumon thrives on division. They pit everyone against each other, even their own people. Harmony hates Natalie, Seth hates Harmony, Milchick is constantly caught in the middle-it’s all intentional. They don’t want unity; they want control through conflict. So what if Ricken and his friends aren’t just abandoned experiments, but part of that same system of control? A different kind of test, still unknowingly serving Lumon’s agenda.

In 2012 Heliofant made a Short controversial Cartoon called I Pet Goat 2 and Severance blends into this when you take a look. A lot have tried to figure out the Symbolism, I ques you know about it, but if not check it out. For me it is telling that Severance has already happened to all of us, we all have a Innie and an Outie, and our dreamstate is when our Innie is trying to get messages across to our Subconscious Outie. If you take a look at I Pet Goat it shows that everything is ruled by the Constellations. And the whole Pineal Gland being portraited by the Church, and in Ancient history shows that this Re- ality we live in is a Re-petition of a Cycle that never ends.

I think the family visits are to do 2 things - 1. punish Dylan through his outtie since it seems like his innie is what his wife wishes he was, and 2. keep innie Dylan in line through saying "don't fuck up or your family will feel the pain." Also it seems like maybe she works at Lumen (blue jacket?)? The flip side to that - based on the abuses they're taking in, I wouldn't be shocked if we saw severed floor management start turn on Lumen. Milcheck isn't feeling seen, Cobel just about got her ass sent to R&D... so they can't be feeling too safe either. Side note - great breakdown of some of the symbolism. Never would have picked up with that. You, Faceless Girl & Nautilus Files have become my go-to for episode breakdowns & discussions. Love it.

@@miketravis4242 I just re-watched season 1 where Dylan was in the closet at home, and Milchick was in there with him - flipping the switch. When Dylan's kid barged in, I saw how Milchick was VERY mean to the kid - grabbing the arm, and very angrily saying "we told you to count to a thousand !". the kid's reaction was that Milchick was a dick, and that he just wanted to give daddy a hug. Seeing that scene again makes me think that Milchick is somehow (known) to dylan's family in some way. I am almost thinking that "Seth" and dylan's "Wife" have a connection, too. This show is great !!

Just noticed this wild detail watching your video. At 10:55 Dylan's alleged wife has a small charm necklace on (also has its "boob" aka clasp hanging to the front which most people who wear necklaces put to the back) BUT the more important detail is the necklace is a Lumon droplet logo in blue. It's the same charm as the earrings I noticed from Helly in S2E1 when all of MDR goes to the new break room. Once Helly starts pressing them for details of what their outties saw there is a short moment which highlights her earrings in somewhat a close up shot of her face. I noticed this detail bc of the oversized triple crystal earrings Helly wore in the season 1 finale which seemed to distort colors and which became more relevant before her speech when she was in what we believe to be the bathroom (nobody ever actually goes to the bathroom in the show - nor "gas having"). Anyways her weird old man who says she could live with him in his "revolving" some day is blabbing about how when Helly was little and saw the first chip that he brought home she was saying (according to his recollection) how she thought they were beautiful and that everyone in the world should have one. He commented the first chips were blue and green. The color symbolism in this show is on clear display but is as blurry to make absolute sense of as the shows many popcorn trail theories leading to no where - I do know that Helly's earrings in S1 finale were noticeably large and colored the same with an extra smaller gem in the middle that was clear crystal and back in the building they have shrunken down. I think Helly has abilities just like or not too dissimilar from Natalie especially after her confrontation with Harmony Cobelvig aka Ms Selvig aka Harmony Cobell (aka Ms Cow Bell 🐮🔔 by fans) -- it seemed like Helly has been communicating with the board and speaking in their behalf or directly being under their control while still in her own body.

there’s something deeper about blue eyes, trust and race in this episode. natalie has blue eyes, and mentions they gave her the same paintings when she got promoted. we dont know if/how it affects her due to her eye color. the old woman from o&d has blue eyes and she opens up to irv, who she did not seem to trust in s1. irv also could be mixed and o&d makes the paintings. then regabi saves mark from going blind and mentions how pupils dilate in the elevator. we dont know if we can trust dylan or his wife and they are a mixed couple. maybe coincidence. idk what to make of it but the theme is definitely there. video is hilarious and in depth.

You made some interesting connections and theories I didn't catch. Oh yeah one small detail about Helly/Helena is she didn't show her belly button but Mark Scout did. There's plausible deniability - maybe it's just the outfit she wore, maybe the actress Britt didn't want to show her belly button, or maybe it was an intentional choice by directors to sow more distrust in viewers. I have a long show theory that Helly is actually good but appears bad from how we see her for at least these first 2 seasons. They've just made her so obviously bad but she's shown a duality at least in brief for season 1. This show is a master class in not only double entendres but damn triple and quadruple entendres. That writing room must look like Charlie in It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia chain smoking cigarettes, looking crazy with eye bags, connecting red strings between bits of paper, and drinking a sick amount of coffee.
