Lovely video of a fabulous line very close to my heart. The line is 19th century (structures, station buildings, signal boxes etc), the carriages are mainly a mix of 1920-30s and 1950s with some older Edwardian examples. The loco 75069 was built in the early 1950s by BR so it’s one of the more modern preserved examples on the line. The purple Bulleid Pacific dates from the early 1940s.

Thank you for your very kind words, they mean so much!! You clearly are exceptionally well informed so the fact you enjoyed and took something away from my video is praise indeed. Thank you again x

That was a very well crafted video Caroline , especially considering you appear to be new to filming railways. It was good to see that you did a bit of research on the subject matter and knew your stuff. In fact you were probably better in that respect than some TV editors ! I know the Severn Valley Railway very well, have visited it many many times and yet still found your video interesting. The engines in the Engine House are all either stored permanently or in a queue for overhaul. The SVR management will I am sure value your depiction of the line.

I cannot thank you enough for that comment. I loved learning all about the engines and particularity the bogie evolution/impact on railways globally. I’m so glad you enjoyed my video and thank you again for taking the time to write that lovely comment!

@@CarolineBockPresenter Thank you ! My real name is Geoff as you might have guessed and I am a SVR shareholder of many years. The railway has its own excellent website and KZbin channel, which you may have seen. That incident at Arley was quite rare and something like that usually occurs when the train guard spots something amiss on departure and presses an emergency brake, which in turn tells the driver to stop pronto ! The usual cause is a door not properly closed. I am now a subscriber to your channel and look forward to more interesting videos like that !
