Nice assessment of these two excellent boards! One note - you mention that the boards have a Deep Tuttle box. My 155 actually has a flat topped "Foil-Box" so it will of course accept Deep Tuttle mastheads but will also accept mastheads like the Starboard IQ without modification. Outstanding board which I most often sail under an 8.5 Flyer FR but have ridden on sails as small as 3.9.

Torn between the 115 and the 125. My sails range from 4.5 to 6.5, I’m 73 Kg and I’m sailing in 10-15 knots. What do you recommend? Thanks

Would that board work (125l) as a Starboard Compact for a kid 10/12 yo to windsurf with a regular fin (deboichet just like the compact ) and a 3m or 4.0 sail ? thanks for your response

Hi, the Alien is designed specifically for use with a hydrofoil. A better option could be a foil-ready freeride board such as the Starboard Carve (only specific sizes are foil-ready). Hope this helps.

What is the equivalent in the Starboard line up? A used 125 just came up for sale.

The Starboard Foil Freeride 125! Great boards but perhaps a little less comfortable to sail than the Alien.

Looking to go into foiling in light wind conditions. Would the 155 be the better option to take off?

Hi Steffen, both sizes work well in light winds. Which size you go for depends whether you're after a more responsive and playful set up (then 125l) or more freerace set up (then 155l). Foil and sail size should be considered too!

Love my Alien 125. I'm sub 70kg and sometimes find it difficult to keep it down when the wind picks up. What influences ride height most. Footstrap or mast foot position?

Hi Paul, A lot of factors to be honest! Might be worth seeking advice from a coach for more fine tuning and set up etc.
