The sharpness meter is going to be my next purchase. It is remarkable how much you can improve upon the factory edge. Under 100 is somewhere in the "wicked" to "scary" sharp range. Thank you for developing the guides.

My new sever 2.0 150gr were dull out of the box. It won't even shave the hair on your arm. USPS notified me your stay sharp guide was delivered so fingers crossed my blades will be sharp tonight

I'm fixed blade guy Ron. But, after seeing John's video I had to buy some Sevr's (John recommended the Robusto 150g) man you get th sharp!

That’s awesome i have Sevr so I’ll be back rewatching this once i get around to sharpening

Just an FYI, Sevrs use their o-ring to hold blades in. About 5-7 times of sharpening you'll have to take a small file to cut that grove back in. I had one deploy mid air on a penetration test, found the o-ring and it was sliced in half.

Better just to replace the blade at that point brother

Wow that is insane how sharp you got that!

Just ordered this guide the fixed blade guide and 5 diamond plates. I also have the 344 and tooth of the arrow style sharpener and boy they’ll put an edge on a head. 4 hunters in the family so a sharpener for everyone.

How did you get the stay sharp jig to hold onto the blade tight enough?

@@lukejoseph1406 I just tighten the screw.....it holds the blades totally tight

@@ruan_bowman I tried about 10 different positions with my 1.5 sevrs and the jig just doesn't hold the blade tight enough to keep it square

so i have a question, what about the actual point of the broadhead, how would you sharpen that?
@michaelschnitzer40542 жыл бұрын
Sharpened 2 of the 4 I have working on the third. Probably my least favorite to sharpen out of the 3 I do. The 344 for 3 blade heads is my favorite tooth of the arrow sharpener is second and these r last. But they probably get the sharpest.

How do the o rings hold up once the factory notch is gone? I think I'm gonna give these broadheads a rip this year. I like that they offer replacement parts( o rings, blades). Lots of mechanical broadheads are one and dones and there's not much value in that. How's the edge retention of the ferrule? I haven't seen or heard what grade of titanium they're using.
@Joe-fi2ir Жыл бұрын
I was wondering the exact same thing, should you somehow deepen the notch? ...and if the notch is too sharp, would it prematurely cut the rubber band in flight? ...and from what I understand, Sevr uses Grade 5 Titanium.

Hey Ron, I can't seem to get these as sharp as I'd like, and I continually sharpen only the outer most edge of the cutting surface. I've tried different distances out from the guide and it isn't changing. What am I doing wrong?

The extra screw is to lock the blades closed for target practice.

Which guide do I buy for the SEVR 1.5"? There are several listed on the site but none indicate for SEVR.

I can't get your sharpener to hold onto the blade tight enough on my sevrs what is the trick.
@innovativeoutdoorsman50672 жыл бұрын
If the blade moves in the jaws, that means you are applying too much down pressure while rolling the guide. The wight of your hand is almost too mush force. Light pressure and more strokes. Dont push down hard.
@lukejoseph14062 жыл бұрын
@@innovativeoutdoorsman5067 I know this and I own and I own all 3 of your jigs, this is the first time using this jig though and it definetly doesn't even hold it snug with my sevr 1.5 blades. I also use your diamond stones and have no issues with other blades.
