As somebody who has ADHD and RSD myself, it’s always so wonderful to see somebody talk about it and working to overcome that, especially in a creative space which is definitely not the nicest space for ADHD and RSD. Ive found it rare to have role models for that specific aspect of my life, so finding out Jenny is rocking that kind of made my day lol.

Man I still find it awesome that Jenny is able to be not only in GI as Yoimiya but still surprising, she also voiced Comic Book Guy's new wife in The Simpsons....... Very impressive. Ok. Not even gonna exaggerate or anything but Yoimiya's English voice acting was pretty damn on point, amazing and unique. And it had an extra challenge on it too...Hoyoverse actually went for the Kansai-ben for Yoimiya's Japanese voice. And she has this very high energy Osaka accent that is just super unique to her and adds so much personality to her. To produce a similar effect and be spot on with the unique bubblyness in English where you don't even have this accent as a support... It's amazing. I have played Genshin Japanese and English back to back and Yoimiya's voice is memorable and really entertaining in both.

It's always therapeutic to hear someone talk about their experiences with ADHD and RSD, especially in a context like this, highlighting passion and creativity. In particular, there was a moment near the end of the interview that really resonated with me. I hope someday I will also be able to accept myself for who I am in that moment. I clicked on this video expecting to find company listening to two interesting people talk about interesting things as I spent an evening unpacking boxes but instead I found so much inspiration. I'm leaving with so much to chew on and think about, motivated for the first time in a long time to untangle and follow some of the endless creative threads and ideas and passions I'd formerly shoved into a corner.

As a Yoimiya main I just have say thanks! Her lines dont get stale for me. Whenever she sees the snow in dragonspine and squees, its my favourite voiceline in the game and makes me smile every time I hear it!

I just got finished with Yoimiya's story quest and I gotta say, she is just so likeable and full of life. Jenny really did an outstanding job, she's become one of my favorite characters I've met so far. I hope to see more Yoimiya in future patches (I'm still in Inazuma), and hopefully she gets another banner rerun since I missed that last one lol. Also Sevy, your podcasting skills are great. I've watched a handful of podcasts from other creators, and there's a bunch of people that cut off their guests when they're speaking and/or they speak a lot instead of letting the guests shine. It really breaks the flow of the conversation when they do. I've only watched this one so far, but you had really good questions, the flow of the conversation was smooth, and there was great chemistry between you and Jenny. She seems like such a sweet person, hopefully she gets more opportunities for other projects she wants in the future. I look forward to checking out more of your podcasts 🙏

I think one of the reasons Jenny landed the Yoimiya role, is because of the neurodivergent treats they share: interest driven, creativity, passionate and being always in motion. All of those are common in the ADHD community. Maybe the fact that she didn't prepare too much, as she said, made those aspects of Jenny more noticeable on her casting. ADHDers are known to be good at improvising, and dealing with pressure. MiHoyo might have sensed that on Jenny, making her an excellent fit for the role.

This was a great watch! You can't have more humble origins than starting out from your mom's walk-in closet as a makeshift recording booth, that's plain genius 🤣 Yoimiya has honestly been the best decision that i made in terms of characters on GI. I originally only wanted to go only for Eula but after i watched a video on all at the time available characters their max ascenion line and hearing yoimiya's, especially the last sentence, that's what peaked my attention on that very moment. Here's someone that can greet you with a warm smile to make you feel better if you need some positive energy and yoimiya got plenty of it! It didn't take long for me then to do some research on who breathed life into her, and to put it simple... Jenny easily took a shot at being one of my favorite VAs. And i haven't looked back since. I'm hoping to meet her next week at Abunaicon to tell her how she and yoimiya are awesome! This has been something I've been dying to do but living in europe has it's disadvantages 😅
