Sew a sling backpack - Wayfarer 2 0 Style 2 - Tutorial

A Tutorial for the Wayfarer 2.0 Style 2 with a Convertible Strap from A Quaint Stitch Patterns. This is a unisex large sling backpack. The Wayfarer 2.0 was designed with several pocket options to store various personal items.
In this tutorial I do not show all of the pocket options but the pattern comes with 36 detailed instructions with many photos to help you.
I use the binding method in this tutorial but the instructions also come with the birthing method.
I used Vinyl and Waterproof Canvas for my Exterior. Waterproof Canvas for my Lining. I sewed it on a Juki 1181n but is domestic friendly if you choose lighter weight fabrics.

Thank you so much for this! I’m making my first one right now. I’ve made the smaller version w/ the 1 gusset so I wasn’t sure how to bind the first half of the bag. Sadly I found this video AFTER I had already birthed the front half but I’m so glad I’ve found this for the rest of my bag & any future ones I make ☺️

Thank you for filming this tutorial! I started this bag for my husband in June and got about ½ way done but got frustrated with the steps. I just got through the bag part, and did the birthing method instead of the binding (used quilting cotton on the interior so binding would have been a little more complicated than WPC). I have some more WRC and vinyl that I think I'll try on this - I love all the options for this bag!

Hi have this pattern and would you please explain what pattern pieces you are working with and where to turn the pieces right side or wrong side as you put the pieces together? It would be of great help thank you, also I'm trying to go by the pattern instructions but am a visual learner and would you be able to talk instead of music playing.

The tutorial follows along with the written directions. So if you follow along with the written directions it’ll explain exactly which pieces I’m turning. The finished size of this sling made at 85% of the original is approximately 8.5” W x 17” H x 4.5” D the original pattern is 10” W x 20” H x 5.25” D

it is very hard to follow a tutorial with only annoying music. if you aren't going to explain as you go along, the tutorial is no better than looking at the pdf directions.
