SEW WITH ME: KNOW ME ME2040 | my new know me pattern | sewing

Hey friends! Today we are sewing along to my new Know Me ME2040 pattern! I love this dress so much! I think it's great for summer and it will transition well into next season. In this video, I'm sewing along with View A. I used a Rayon from Melanated Fabrics (sold out) and I cut the size 22.

Thank you for the instructions. I just did this in a cotton knit. Did not need a zipper. I was able to slip it on and off without it. Love the dress.

Have you seen the Cricut mini heat press and the Cricut pressing mats? I was just thinking of how convenient it would be if I had them on my sewing table used them to press seams when sewing. Just a thought, I know you have a fabulous set up in your home 😉

Hi Brittany! Thank you for this incredible tutorial, I love this dress and fabric! I have a question for you- I notice that you pre serge most of your pattern pieces. Do you do this because it is easier to serge everything all at once or is it because you prefer the look of pressing your seams open flat? Just curious. Great tutorial! Question: Is understitching the same as “stitch in the ditch?”

Hi. Understitching usually catches the facing/lining together with the seam allowance to keep it from rolling to the outside. It is sewn about an 1/8 of an inch away from the seam. Stitch in the ditch means to stitch right in the seam catching the fabric on the other side so that it doesn’t show from the right side. Like a waistband and facing. I’m so sorry if this confuses you more. Brittany has some awesome KZbin videos on these. 😊
