This was the most valuable and helpful tutorials. I had seen a couple of other tutorials, but they just went way too fast for a novice to this Baby Lock Vibrant. I got it for Christmas. I will be 65 and even though I have been sewing since age 11, a serger is a foreign machine for me. Thank you for taking the time to do these.

I got one of these as a gift, was intimidated by the appearance so it sat in the box for a year. 😂 Thank you for this video, I love using the serger now. 🙏🏽

I have really enjoyed watching your baby look vibrant tutorial. I am a new baby lock, vibrant owner, and I’m still playing around with things. I do have a question. I am using thicker material like fleece on the vibrant. And my left needle thread keeps breaking. Do you have any videos that talk about how to switch tension with a thicker material? Thanks.

I’m so glad you are enjoying them! The vibrant is a wonderful machine. I haven’t done any tension type videos as it varies with different variables but I will see if I can create one based on tension. I haven’t had to change the tension much so it makes me wonder if the needle is being screwed in all the way or if something else is causing the breaking? Just something to consider!

What tension settings are best for when sewing swimwear on this serger?
@mysewbliss10 күн бұрын
I don’t change the tension settings when I’m sewing swimwear, so unless you’re having issues I wouldn’t touch it!

@ I rewatched your video again and OMG thank you so much! I was slightly threading it wrong 🤦🏻♀️ BUT I’m finally able to use my baby lock serger again THANKS TO YOU 🥹 I was going crazy lol.

What type of needle does the Vibrant take? I'm sure it's a serger/overlock needle (not a home sewing machine needle), but there are a number of styles of serger needles. I have not been able to determine the needle specific to the Vibrant.

Check out the manual, page 16, it tells you the kind of needle to use with which thread! But most of the time I’m just using universal serger needles. Hope that helps!

What kind of thread do you use in your Vibrant. I just bought one and wasn't sure about that. What brand.? Thank you!

Can this machine serge thick layers of materials?

I’ve never had issues sewing thick layers of fabric but I’m sure it has its limit. 💛

the eye of the needle keeps breaking. i'm using one needle only and the cutter is off.
@mysewbliss Жыл бұрын
When does it break? It could be that the needle is all the way in place. Usually when I have issues it’s because thread is out of place or the needle is loose! Hope you can get it figured out easily!
