since the og swamp was the first return to the emo miles, i imagine its a reference to the part of him he thought was dead aka 9tails. hence why at the end it sounds likes he forcing someone to look someone else (presumably him) dead in the eye and he says "deep in his mind, the feeling remains, so look at the swamp, and remember the place." i personally think this means the parts of him from 9tails will never die or leave. its just something he has to live with, and the "look at the swamp, and remember the place" is him forcing a confrontation with that part of him. and when he says "the swamps the safest place" i suppose he finds his original style he started with comfortable. since from what we know hes also lived with it.
