The original song gave me the feeling of childlike hope and innocence. The first time I listened to this it gave me the sense of desperately holding onto that hope despite being irreparably damaged. However, the more I listen to this, the more it develops into a feeling of bittersweet acceptance.

Hey man, I saw your post but couldn't figure out how to reply to it on the app I was viewing it on so I came here. Wanted to tell you that while I don't know specifically how you feel because I'm not you and I don't live in your mind, but I really identify with what you're describing and what that's like. I wanted to eat a bullet 6 years ago, felt like I was at the end, but I kept going. I can't really put into words how glad I am that I persisted, and I'm not going to tell you it was easy or that I didn't suffer, but I will tell you it was worth it. If I hadn't stuck around, there would have been a lot of people I love that wouldn't have had me around when their lives started to fall apart, I wouldn't have been able to help them and be there for them and help get them through the bad times. You're a brilliant, incredibly skilled artist and human being, and you've improved my life with your work, and I don't want to see that light go out. You're a human being and you deserve to be loved, and I love you man, and I know a shit ton of your subscribers do too, because you share with us some really vulnerable, deep music that resonates with us in a way that few things do, you have such a unique understanding of what you're doing that it's incredible. You mean a lot to people, more than you know. I know life can suck, the whole world kinda sucks and it's gonna kinda suck forever, but it's also kinda cool, because if it wasn't at least somewhat good, this music wouldn't exist, we wouldn't be able to even know each other existed, but yet here we are. My point is that there's always going to be bad things in life, and a lot of the time it's gonna be mostly bad, but there's nothing you as a human can do to change that, you can only try to reduce harm and make things as tolerable as possible. The only thing you can control about the world is how you react to it, and how you act in accordance. The external will always do what it's going to do, so you have to change how you look at things, and I know that's extremely difficult, but it was the way through for me. I realized that the things that upset me about the world would always be that way, but what I could control was how I reacted to it. This may sound childish but I try to look at unfortunate things as adventures, so as an example if my car shits out an ignition coil on the interstate, I look at it as "okay that's unfortunate, but now I get to do something I normally don't, like maybe I call an Uber to get me to an auto parts store and who knows what'll happen on the way", and granted, it might turn out that the driver is a rude asshole, but he'll even if he was I could turn it into a funny story to tell later. Anyways man, I don't know if any of that helps, but it helped me and I'm very content in my life now. I just care about you and want you to be well.
@joeward94804 жыл бұрын
A-fucking-men bro. Late reply but glad to hear you're doing better. We're sort of like some secret club aren't we. The takeaway from the music is, for me, that I'm not alone, which is totally as you describe, and I imagine it's the same for a lot of other listeners too.
