MayI suggest a weave net . It allows less tension on the braids and more freedom to allocate the tracks wherever you want to see them. I like the straight needle too.

It wasn't that bad in the end. She made it work. Per the way it was sewn it came out cute. Just because it's not something you would prefer doesnt make the over all execution horrible. I've seen some terrible installations with those methods you described by people who have the resources and who are supposed to know better. Considering everything she did a good job!
