I, too, just loooooove tulips. They were the first thing I noticed in your opening shot. And I enjoyed the extra cat footage. Your attention to detail inspires me to do the same. Thank you. You were right. The fabric looks great with your hair color. The spot where you shot the reveal is so pretty with your floral dress. The pattern was a perfect match to the fabric.

For zippers, I take the time to baste them in beforehand. It doesn’t take too long and makes it so much less fiddly and worrying at the machine, with smoother better lined up results.

I was so excited, I found it at a flea market and it was so cheap and is one of my favorites to use, although it took some practice because of its odd shape.

Depending on what sort of zip you are doing I've found a brilliant knack that works for invisible zips. You basically stitch everything together as normal but leave the back open mark the zip length accordingly and stitch to this point with usual stitches then use basting stitches on your machine for the zip seam once you've done that then stitch your zip on the inside with basting stitches relatively close the the seam line on both sides once that is done seam rip the zip seam and then go in with your concealed foot zip and stitch on the right side turning the seam allowance out on both sides then you'll find once you have stitched it in place 99% of the time everything matches up!

Love your videos and all the patterns you use are to die for. Where I live is very hard to come by vintage patterns or vintage fabric. I think that we should think twice whenever buying a new piece of clothing especially when it comes from those brands that do not support children and womens rights.
@HaleyMarieVintage
@HaleyMarieVintage 4 ай бұрын
Yeah I have to order most of mine online to have access to them, and agreed especially since so many companies tout that they support women while keeping the women making their clothing in poverty wages.

"I'm not here to sell you shit" really made me smile. The cost discussion always makes me wonder how much cheaper a good quality company can buy good quality materials.
@HaleyMarieVintage
@HaleyMarieVintage 4 ай бұрын
Wholesale can get at least 50% cheaper so they can totally find a lot of things that are high quality a lot cheaper, however the discount goes higher the more bulk you buy which many high end designers do but then throw away the fabric they don't use because of how much cheaper it was to buy more than less so it can be icky. Luckily brands distributing their deadstock fabric has become more normal so less goes to the landfill but a lot of brands still send to the landfill....
@jessicav2031
@jessicav2031 4 ай бұрын
@@HaleyMarieVintage I didn't realize they actually threw it away. That is infuriating. I wonder if it is like those retailers who have a locked crusher out back to make absolutely sure nobody can have it, or if employees get to grab it as it goes out the door. The corporate mentality sure is like a sociopath teenage boy.

First given that you have to have a work badge every day, having a cool place to wear your badge is a top priority. On the elastic cuffs try Making two routes ties per sleeve connect together with a small piece of elastic. Add cuff button holes thread drawstring/elastic through. Tuck tie ends inside cuff (or leave them out for bow detail) Cuff becomes adjustable but more stable than just elastic

Ooohhhhh girl, you scared me for a minute with those tulips lol. I have 3 cats, 2 of which are really dumb and will eat anything, so no plants are allowed in our house. Tulips are also my favorite flower so I'm sad I can't have them.

I was wondering if you could get one of those fold away tables that when you want to sew you wheel it out and fold out the ends. It comes out really big. Great for you to cut out and it would probably help your back. I think they are on Amazon. I love Spooky sorry I called her a he.

I wonder if the twisti-ness is because you didn’t know where the top-center of the sleeve was and just needs to be rotated so the sleeve doesn’t twist.

Please elaborate on the difference in sound with a dull needle. I figure some of mine must be dull by now but I don’t know how to tell.

@HaleyMarieVintage 4 ай бұрын
So it takes time, but pay attention to the sound right when you put in a needle vs when you've used it for hours, it is louder/very different sounding once it dulls.

twisting shoulder problem : 1 either you are going around the hole flat when it should be twisted once or 2 twisted once when it should be flat or 3 tension on the elastic is too much or 4 tension on the elastic is inconsistent. Maybe more than one thing Be a scientist do some experiments!
