I love how easy making soft toys is, giving out a pattern too is really kind and very helpful when creating a variety of toys. Spyderthread art dolls has an interesting way of jointing soft dolls using beads and dinlife also give patterns but show how to use only scraps and mamaroarsews is great for other animal toy ideas so you've just joined my sewing toys list!

Well, I learned a few things here. I never thought of sewing the pieces together before I cut them out, nor of putting them close enough together on the fabric to just cut them all out as one panel. What a timesaver! That anchor stitch for the head was a DUH moment for me - as in, "DUH, why didn't I think of that!!"

I’m so glad you got something from it! And for me, that’s the only way I learned from my mom! so whenever I sew individual pieces of something I always feel like I’m doing it “wrong” since I’m not used to it that way 😆 oh and when I learned the anchoring and baste stitching I totally felt like “DUH” too 🤭

Hi thank you so much for teaching us how to make the cute bear! I have made one for my 4 years old grandson for his birthday and a variation(rabbit) for my new born grand daughter! I am now making another bear for another grandson who will be born in mid November! 🤗❤️🙏

I love seeing how different people go about making toys, this is a lovely pattern too, my other favourites are @dinlife as she uses scraps to make dolls and tiny bears and @mamaroarsews makes a range of animals but started with mice which are adorable and accompany childrens books

Oh I’m so happy you like him! Hand sewing isn’t my favorite either but once you get the muscle memory of the stitches down im sure it’ll be a breeze & turn out great. Enjoy! And thank you TOO 💕

Looking for an easy and understandable video to use in teaching my 7yo . I think I found it She received a build a bear style kit for Christmas and became really interested in making her own stuffed animal. What are the dimensions of the bear? Ideally I would like a 7 or 8 inch bear. Is the pattern easily scalable to accommodate a 7 or 8 inch bear?

That’s wonderful!! 😍 you should be able to size it up with your printer settings to make it a little bigger! I’m currently moving so I can’t take the bear’s measurements but he’s about 5 inches in length. I’d probably try printing at 110%? It depends on your printer! Hope this helps. ☺️

This is adorable! I’m new to this and I’m having trouble understanding how to attach the head to the neck as well as the hands.. Not sure if you’re able to explain it further…?
@charleen_miguel2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I’m working on making better videos and explaining myself better 🤭 I’ll have to make a new video for attaching the arms since that’s hard for me to explain though text. But if I had to try to simply explain it, I am sewing the limbs to the body by running the needle back and forth through the shoulders and torso area of the bear to secure it. For attaching the head to body, I do a gather stitch to close up the seam of the neck/body and with the same thread, I push the needle through top of the bear’s head and back down through the head, in through the neck and body and that just acts as an anchor to hold the head to the body as I attach it with a different thread using a ladder stitch to secure it! The “anchor” thread I then just cut off when I’m done securing the head. I know that’s a mouthful explanation, but I hope that helped you a little!
