Sewing a Waxed Canvas Bag on the Sailrite Fabricator

Adam's favourite pattern at the moment is the Kelzjon. It's one of our older patterns but it's a gooden. After making one he had to make another and filmed the process. Hope you like it.

Hi Adam, I love the way you’ve filmed this it’s a joy to watch! I have a Sailrite LZ1 and I’m curious about where you get the thread and what size needle you use? I’ve made numerous bags using Jo’s patterns all using the Sailrite and I use #92 sunstop thread and a 110/18 needle but I struggle to source the thread in all but 1980 yard spools, meaning I have a very limited colour range as they are quite pricey! Thanks keep up the good work and don’t forget cream on first 😁

Many thanks. I got tex 70 and 90 thread from Sailrite. It’s good quality. And then I’ve bought tex70 Aussel from Amazon. Lots of choice of colours. I’ve also just bought some thread from Konsew. They have lots of options and colours. I tend to use 100 or 110 needle for tex 70 and a size 120 for tex 90.

Thanks Adam, you’re right Sailrite thread is excellent quality and because the Sunstop is UV resistant I can use it on the outdoor projects for my boat (which is why I bought a Sailrite in the first place). BTW would love to see you doing more leatherwork.

I love this, but the moving/panning camera makes me motion sick. Eg: 2:10, 2:46, 4:36. Great to see Adam get so excited about sewing - that machine looks awesome.

Absolutely fabulous everything!!!! What the heck was that magical cutting tool you used for the attaching the bottom to the gusset? I’m very envious of that incredible Fabricator...anything you have not been able to sew with it? TYFS

I think you’re referring to the pattern notcher. They’re really cheap on Amazon. The only think I can’t sew on it is small gussets made of leather. You need a column machine for those. Everything else it works great 😃
