Hi Kim. I loved listening to your reflections; I have learnt so much from you. The quality and precision of your sewing as you know, is something I aspire to. But I love how intentional you are about everything you do. I can't wait to see all your new content in 2025. Thank you for everything you shared and taught me in 2024. 🥰😘

I think I’m on a similar journey as yourself in slowing down output and working on fitting etc.

@@Handbagqueen23 thanks Tamara. I'm usually in awe of sewists that make a garment in a couple of hours, but that's not me. I over think! So I need to put that over-thinking into fitting. And I genuinely feel quite excited about sewing again. ❤️

Hello Kim I agree with you that the little extra steps are so worth it I think that if your stash is fairly large a good sort through is a good idea I took all my fabrics out of the cupboard and sorted them into catagories I looked at them I asked myself do I still like it or is s it's something that I would ever wear and the type of fabric do I like it anymore It was an excellent thing to do I now have a stash that I love and Will wear I have a rule of buying fabric with a garment in mind not buying because of pretty or good sales It's been working for me It also inspired me to use a few pieces that I bought and really liked Sooner than later Since I have done that when I go look at fabic I think oh this would go with a fabric I have Hope that makes sense it's a good feeling to organize and if I see a new patterns I can think first do I already have some fabric to make that Hopefully you can have time to get things sorted out as well Happy sewing looking forward to seeing what's coming next in your sewing room Take care

I know when I watch you in your videos I really see a lot of traits in you that we are of the same mind in our sewing journey I have been making more notes on patterns so I get a better fit I love the rewards of making a garment that is exactly the fabric and style for me. What I imagined it to look like . So it's making time in my organized sewing room and getting lovely things to wear that I feel great in it's my favorite place to spend time I have a little sign on the wall that says "my happy place " Sewing and watching my Utube friends life is good 😊 Hopefully you can get time to get working on your goals Happy sewing 👗 ✂️ 🪡 🧵 💓 Take care

I haven’t been tempted by the subscription boxes as I am quite particular about the colours I wear. They sound like fun but are expensive and hit and miss with other wardrobe items you may have. I have been sewing for a long time on and off and one thing I noticed about your videos is that you don’t appear to measure up your patterns before you sew. I am not a toile girl but measuring forehand will ensure your sleeves are how you want them and the ease at bust and hips is adequate. Taking videos is an excellent idea. Seeing yourself from all angles. And your project page has such excellent information to refer back to along with watching a video of your last make. I’ve been using your project sheet this year and finding it valuable. Thanks for sharing 😊. Good luck with your 2025 sewing. Another wardrobe tip is to only buy fabric that will coordinate with at least 3 other items in your wardrobe. This often means boring plain fabrics but they will make the outfit and be a support act for your other wonderful colourful garments.

@@vickimaiorano5763 thanks Vicki. I'm always in a rush to start sewing and make a few changes, but obviously they're not doing me justice. So back to the drawing board, slow down and prepare. More plain fabrics this year that's for sure. ❤️

Hi Kim, I imagine the ability to look at your makes as a viewer is really helpful. It's exciting to be able to see the way forward by looking back. I have to make changes this year too. I was unwell over new year and blood tests show I'm at risk if I don't get my cholesterol down. So it's either diet or Statins. So looking forward to see your changes.😊

@@linvin18 bless you Linda. I'm sure you'll get your cholesterol under control. I've started my diet and so far I've put a pound on! 😡 It's not easy, but I'm determined to get some weight off this year. Best of luck ❤️

I need to stop buying fabric this year - but like you I am not sure how that is going to work! I need to use my stash (which isn't that huge, really. I made a bralette a couple of years ago, but it didn't turn out well. I think getting the sizing right was the issue. I did make a few pairs of knickers though, and they weren't too bad. Don't mention coats - lol! I intend to start some actual sewing on mine this week (she says, confidently).

I need to stop buying and start sewing, my trouble is I do not have a designated space and a houseful of people (partner, dad, brother and pickles the naughty cat) that cause distractions! Would love to see your quilting. I think you are so talented and would love to one day be half as good as you. To be honest forget the half a tenth!!! Lol! 😘

@@lyncarriere2014 Ahh Lyn you did make me laugh. I remember when I started sewing it was a train-wreck. It is sheer perseverance and years of 'practice'! Keep going and you will, I promise, be than me. ❤️
