Hi there, I was wondering if I can buy this file from you? I do not know how to digitize but splitting up the circle placement stitch is exactly what I need.
@theembroideryzone3 ай бұрын
Sure. I can make this file for you so that it fits the exact size of your patch.

Oh that would be wonderful. How can I get in touch ? Do you have an Etsy or Instagram? How can I purchase it ?

When I try to sew a round leather patch onto a hat with my 15 needle embroidery machine, I make a placement stitch that is 2mm smaller than the patch. When I then glue the patch on top, the placement stitch is still larger than the patch...how to prevent or compensate for this? Is this due to the deformation because the cap is curvy?
@theembroideryzone Жыл бұрын
Hi Maddox, I think that's a good theory since the outside edges of the patch kind of fold in when you lay it on the curve of the cap. The New Era caps I used had a mid-profile structured front so they didn't curve very much. I imagine you are attaching your leather patches with a running stitch so it wouldn't hide the placement line if it stuck out. Mine would be hidden by the E-Stitch since it hangs over the edge a bit.

This is impressive! When I do these I do a run stitch just like you do.. but I use spray tack and hold it with my fingers to try and keep everything straight. I might have to try that masking tape! Would you do this same process with a leather patch?
@theembroideryzone2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ryan, I know what you mean, I tried spray adhesive too but it didn't hold, plus I wanted to be able to do them on my multi-head machine so I wouldn't be able to hold them. I think I would try it with leather patches too, haven't had to yet.

I use a silicone spatula to hold down the patch. Let the spatula take a needle than my fingers

How do you keep the patch from moving even after using spray adhesive? The patch tends to bunch and not be perfectly flat. Im helping a friend w this project and we can't figure it out.

I use blue painters tape, sew right through it then peel it off at the end

can i ask what does the inside part of the cap looks like now that you embroidered a patch?
@theembroideryzone2 жыл бұрын
Hi Joshua, I didn't take a picture but all you see on the inside of the cap is the circle of stitching that attaches the patch
@puntabachata2 жыл бұрын
You could heatpress the cap for a few seconds to flatten it out some.
@theembroideryzone2 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe, good idea although I don't have a cap press. I originally wanted to heat press the patches on instead if sewing them but didn't want to spring for a new press.😁

Hi Eugene, here's a link to another patch video I made where I did it on sleeves instead of a cap, but it shows how I digitized the stitch file. Is that what you need? kzbin.info/www/bejne/rovdpphnn514grMsi=hOFy2xnEgbp_15sX
