I'm finally getting a chance to catch up after being away in Newcastle last weekend. Lucy Locket was our neighbour. She had the toadstool baskets with her. One had to come home with me! Oh Jeanette, I'm so excited to hear about your holiday. It's going to be wonderful. You did make me laugh when the first thing you started talking about was what crafty projects you were taking with you. I'm exactly the same when we go away in our campervan. I spend more time thinking about that than what clothes I'm taking 😂 I've just bought some fabric from Sally, Petite Jeanne from Windham Fabrics, as it's so whimsical and also Down Tinsel Lane by Anni Downs. I haven't done anything with them yet, I just keep stroking the fabric and then putting them away 🤣 I might also have made a cheeky purchase from Toft too, I just can't help myself. Anyway I must get on with work. Happy crafting xxx

Your holiday sounds wonderful. I hope you have a fabulous time. Your notepad holder is adorable. I wouldn’t use the card holder either, but the way you used the mushroom fabric really takes the project up a notch. A thought about your tote boo boo. Maybe you could stitch over the corner (or there about) to corner quilting lines to attach the lining fabric enough that you could make the project as you originally intended. Or perhaps you could fuse it in place.

Hello Jeanette - I was thinking about your little Advent jumpers and I totally agree with you that you don’t need to block them… but I wondered if it could be useful to “steam block” them- pop a towel over them and press them with an iron on the steam setting- I’ve done that many times before and it works well- it just evens things out 😊 that’s exciting news about your holiday- I have very similar thoughts about flying too! If you can manage 10 hours maybe you could extend it a bit and come and see us in Australia 🇦🇺!! Warm wishes for a steady recovery from your yucky old cold xx

I have a sister, she doesn't craft, and I have 3 daughters, and not one of them have inherited my love for sewing and knitting! I would love to have someone to spend time with just sewing or knitting or just chatting about sewing and knitting! I use noise cancelling headphones while flying - they make a big difference. I also take a kindle - lots of books to read while flying. If I crochet on the plane, I make sure my project is very simple and small - Usually mini granny squares . Have fun on your trip!

Hi Jeanette. Please be aware that flying with knitting needles is an issue. Wooden or bamboo are less likely to be confiscated. ChiaoGoo are excellent but I would not want you to have them taken off you. I don’t fly any more but the subject is discussed on the knitty McPurly podcast a lot. It is also suggested that you use stoppers on interchangeable needles and tape the tips together like a pair of pencils. I hope you and Timothy have a wonderful holiday.

maybe should have folded the ear then sew it yeh i made a bowling bag very hard construction never mind think it look brilliant anyway but i did the lining separate then slipped it inand did hand sewing round it to hold it before machining it hope you enjoy water colours ive had a go and ive painted with acrylic
