Thank you for the mention about a lining/slip being needed. I will bear that in mind if I make one. I was looking at the original Doen skirt, and was flabbergasted that they would charge that much for a sheer skirt😅 lol (someone correct me if it is indeed lined, but it didn't appear to be). I know they are going for kinda an ethereal, Edwardian-lingerie look, but for $228 I expect more 😆. I think yours is absolutely stunning and every bit as gorgeous as the Doen version, but even more special because you made it yourself. I've also been obsessed with the Doen skirt and have been thinking about it for months, if not a year! I finally just got around to making my own version a couple of weeks ago using the Madswick Zamora Skirt pattern, except I also added lining and made it with a fitted waistband and invisible zipper as I don't really like elastic waistbands for me. I absolutely love how it turned out, I used a cotton poplin rather than a muslin so it has a bit of structure & crispness to it, and like you I added some embroidered trim to the lower hem. Being in Australia, the Doen skirt would be about $500 for me, and as much as I love the brand I just could never justify that when I can make it myself, such is the joy of sewing!!
