You could think of ways to attach a trim so that it's removeable for laundering (such as Velcro or snaps). I'd be tempted to glue that wide rickrack on and never wash the project.

Hi Jane. The rick rack is polyester and is washable. I also my table runners with Scotchguard so it is easy to wipe of any food. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍

Aren’t you supposed to stitch down the center of the ricrack?

Hi Sharon. If you are using rick rack that is under 1" wide, then you can just stitch down the middle. When stitching on the 1" wide the edges will curl up. So you will get better results if you stitch on each edge of the 1" wide rick rack. Hope this helps.
