Thank you for posting! I just bought the pattern and fabric, but haven’t started the project yet. I especially appreciated that you showed how to do the zipper!! I also have a Juki so I noted your stitch length recommendation for topstitching!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I just made my second pair, this time in the tapered view. I used the Top Down Center Out fitting method and it worked so well! I used the Gutermann Mara 70 thread for both stitching and topstitching (only for needle thread, I used regular thread in my bobbin) This was MUCH better than the Mara 30 thread I used in this first pair. I used a 2.4-2.6 mm stitch length for seams and 4mm for topstitching! Happy sewing :)

@@MaryEllenMakes I’m not familiar with the Top Down Center Out fitting method…sounds impressive! I’m just now trying to do the fitting and will have to research that!

@@debclements7605 There's a great series of videos that go in depth about what it is and how to do it on The Crooked Hem's youtube channel!

@@MaryEllenMakes Thank you!! I did find her series and it is fabulous! I’ll have to watch it more than once since I’ve never tried fitting a pattern before..but I’m hopeful! 😜

Yay! Good on you for making some great jeans! I've watched several sewing vloggers who, after 4 or 5 years still haven't tried to make them. Personally, that was one of the main reasons I wanted to start sewing as I couldn't find jeans I liked that actually fit me, so 6 months in I made my first pair and have made many since. Your top-stitching looks fab!

You're inspiring me to try sewing jeans! I have the Ginger jeans pattern but I keep putting it off. ☺
