Love that you are teaching yourself! That is what I did. I am always learning! I would get frustrated in the very beginning.... but over the short amount of time that I have been sewing.... I love the way you got excited about the bits of red in the B&W! In my twenties I went through a long phase where most of my outfits, casual to dressy were combos of red, white, and black, and I regularly got compliments. And a high five for encouraging everyone to use scraps!

Thank you so much! I was sooo excited about that peek a boo of red😜 I just LOVE the look of black and white with tiny pops of color like that🤗 YES! I always hate how much waste there is when it comes to....well... everything but especially fabric! I have some quilting friends that throw sooooo much in the trash! Ive been working on them for months and have gotten several of them to give to quilting guilds, teaching workshops, even to sell their scraps on eBay or Mercari!👍🏻 I hate waste! It always amazes me how much beautiful fabric you can get from scraps and remnants and how many useful amazing things you can make out of them!❤️🤗 High five back to you Eco Quilting 🤚

Please don't call yourself a hoarder! Hoarders don't share or give away anything. Saving scraps for future use is like saving coins. Do you throw out your change? I think not! You save your loose change until you have enough to buy something. You save your scraps until you can create something. It's called being thrifty!

I made a quilt one time with scraps. It was called brown bag quilt. You take your scraps and cut in 2 in by 6 in in length and then you put them back in the brown bag. You just reach into the bag and sew four together. You do not match the strips together. A very pretty scrap blanket.

💖💖💖 The scrappy bags are so cool. The pink one is my favorite but the black and white are awesome too! Well done!! I’ve used shirts and pants that didn’t fit to make things before, genius to use the PJ top. My Momma taught me to use up what I have and to reuse when at all possible. She did “repurpose“ long before repurpose and recycle was cool.

My dad would fix what was broken or build items from scrap wood etc.... my momma would pull the wool out of a sweater that was beyond saving and reuse the wool for something new... Pretty much as close to zero waste as humanly possible. I get a little bit of that from them both! ❤️🤗

I just love your enthusiasm! I did a lot of sewing for a performing arts club and have so many remnants that I don't ever have to shop for fabric anymore. A friend and I made masks for a nursing staff and our families with those remnants. Still have lots more to make your tote!

@@azalia-thecrochethook-y6421 I use 2 different types ... the lightweight I use is Pellon P44F the medium weight is Pellon 931 TD 👍🏻 both of them are a fusible interfacing. Of course, there are loads to choose from. I may even buy a bit of a heavier one too. JoAnn is where I buy mine.

I love what your making. But I'm curious why you use the short handles on some of the bags.

Hi Leatha!🙋🏻‍♀️ I follow a pattern but I have made both shorter ad longer handles. I use a lot of scrap fabric or cut offs from other projects.... so sometimes it is a matter of how much fabric I have left. The shortest I have made is about 14-16 inches... 🌺

I love them. Especially the bright one. I have soooo much scraps. I've only made a few bags but I love piecing the fabrics together. I've watched many of her tutorials. I've turned one of my mom's old dresses into a couple bags. I've also used minion 1's old jeans as the base of bags too. Here is another channel that does a lot of crumb piecing.
