Sewing year review - part 1 - how sewing helped my mental health

Hello sweet Sam! What a joy to crawl out of the Covid bed after more than two days, with the exception of a trip to the ER, to listen to your chat! I’m finding you in sewing for myself once again! I really suffered burnout from all the alterations I did for others for years. It is definitely not the same thing (alterations) as sewing from scratch. I’m not sorry I learned to alterations; I just wish i had left more time for me made! The community feel I got from you was enormous; the organization, well, I think I’m too old to learn now! I’ve made four tops, an apron, and a robe since November! All the tops I made were from a pattern I created from the most comfortable lightweight sweatshirt ever. I got craft paint on the front of it and couldn’t wear it without remembering to change it if I stepped out. One top was from the $3 taffeta from the thrift store! I added to the fold before cutting so that I could put elastic around the neck and wear it as a pullover. It turned out beautifully! Thank you so much for the time you spend with us (me)! I think your word for 24 is “pursuit”. You inspired me to try and find my own perfect trousers. I have made 3 different ones so far and still perfecting the fit but there will be more in 2025.
