I absolute enjoyed the video! You're the best serger instructor on Yt in my opinion. Is this stitch enough to secure the two pieces together? I don't feel like hand stitching like you showed the last part. I really love this flatlock stitch. I'm trying to use it on a chiffon fabric but I'm just not sure if it's secure enough. Some tests I did, I checked the strength by pulling the two pieces apart some and the stitch came off. I'm still playing with my settings. I'm hoping to find a setting that will work for thin fabrics like chiffon. Thank you for the videos Sarah!!! Big hugs from Colorado!

Hi, Viviane! Thank you for your kind words! You don't have to secure the ends by hand if you don't want to. You can use fray check to hold the threads in place. With chiffon, you'll have to stabilize the seam. The easiest way is to fold the chiffon seam allowance onto its self and serge. The two layers make the seam allowance much stronger.

Please please Sara can you put up a video about where all the serger needs to be oiled when oiled....when to oil it....what are the signs that a machine needs to be oiled (i.e. skipped stitches or something)...what other maintenance tips should one follow (especially the necessities)!!! Also, do you have any tutorials for Brother Sergers? I have a Brother 1634D and there are absolutely nooooo tutorials on this model...there are some 1034D but not my kind and I am terrified to make even the first stitch...I have had it for over 4 months and not one stitch...Sister I need some help :-) LOL But if you would please thread and operate some brother sergers it would be the most coolest thing for me! Signed Grateful and Hopeful E. Many Blessings :-)
