They could have looked for somebody speaking good German (if necessary online via Skype, Google Zoom, Discord or whatever) or type it into the Google Translator and let it read it out loud and capture that. Everything would be better than what they did here.

Yeah we have a lot of weird names in Canada. We have a place close to where I live that smells of sulfur. My people called it Pictou. Which is our word for fart (expulsion of gas). I am Mi'kmaq. I can't speak for other clans. But we names things pretty much exactly what it is. So if there was a place where there was a lot of beech nuts.
