Remember complications are completely normal and natural! There’s just a huge amount of stigma around this idea of “dissatisfaction” amongst the trans community because we’re supposed to just feel grateful for whatever we get! Complications are okay, and voicing your concerns about them is good!

I had very similar granulation issues inside and outside, and had to have mine burned off every two weeks with a chemical application. It’s so good to hear complications talked about more. I would do the surgery again in any universe, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t hard and taxing 💜. I don’t think we are often properly prepared for the mental toll these surgeries take or have the proper support, and your timing with Covid compounded that by so much more 😢. You are so strong. Also hell yeah, big girls unite 😝💜

Thirdly, if a teenager watches you and is considering these surgeries your laughing might make them think "this ain't so bad, at least my eggplant is gone." Laughing through pain doesn't get rid of it, it is a mask. I wish you all the best in life but I am convinced these surgeries should be outlawed ASAP.

I’m 6 years. Granulation I had and it got sorted, but I’ve lost depth over the years. I regret the surgery for sure because of it

I had mine just over a month ago and everything is going great. Granulation never bothered me. I also had the complication of the stitches coming out. I'm using organic Manuka Honey to help with healing. It was a combination of using the bigger dilator too soon and the rough journey home. Had to walk about three miles and up eight staircases which didn't help but I had no choice. The worst complication I've had was from the anaesthetic where my outer right thigh went numb and I had severe weakness. It's all getting better. I'm somewhat suffering mentally as I can't do the things I love doing yet and learning to slow down has been quite a challenge. Sending my love.
