Dr. Rasha Al-Lami, a Masters of Clinical Science Candidate at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, reviews her article appearing in the August 2020 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings which examined the role of sex hormones in the response to COVID-19 infection. She noted that both estrogen in women and testosterone in men have a positive effect on reducing inflammation and may play a role in developing treatment or in minimizing adverse outcomes in COVID-19 patients.
