Well, I did watched Kapil sharma when I was 13. A lot of his jokes are physical, its annoying at time, did gave me a tiny bit of anxiety regarding myself. My teacher, once told that the jokes are more of an insult. Kapil and his team is hardly ever sensitive towards people and their pain. He will joke about physical appearance, gender and stereotype people.10 and 12 year olds don't get the intentions, they listen words and note the reaction. Use it further. Kapil was funny. Its only painful now to watch the show

Honest opinion - The question about sexism. It's not the main issue what Kapil feels when speaking that line it's about the example that a day to day tv show is setting on the watchers. And correct me if I'm wrong , that example is not great . Broadcasting something like that even if the host doesn't mean it normalizes it to the spectator. It uncounsiously becomes okay to be a little sexist, and to which people are laughing it off as if it is nothing. #alllovenohate🍀

I was exactly thinking the same things... thankyou for addressing this fact..I would actually like to add something..that it's not just being sexist..it's being disrespectful with any person...in general...based on their physical appearances...
@treepteepandey15714 жыл бұрын
Exactly my point ...also she says it's all funny because of the "irony" of the situation at 11:26 ...I think that these kind of things might actually hurt someone's confident and make them unsure about their physical appearance . And I know it's a comedy show and its just a joke which shouldn't be taken seriously but still they do the same jokes (on Physical appearances) again and again and again ...this repetitiveness is boring and makes it less funny . I mean there is much more content then body shaming jokes out there .. Well this is just my opinion . PS : Don't kill me .lol

@rajdeep Here we r talking about Kapil. An Indian channel show with a lot of censorship assuming alot of children might be watching or to be suitable for the average simple humour liking people. So I honestly see how making fun of someone or being censoringly offensive can be funny to some but my point is joking about someone's physical appearance or gender shouldn't be a norm. There are many clean comics ,dark comic, interaction based comics. Who don't need to oppress a particular moral to be funny .

I don't the show is sexiest. My issue is about it portraying bulling as funny. Even if the intent is not to promote bullying or any of the cast don't feel bullied the effect on the viewer will be different. In the real life a person inspired by the role tries to bring laugh by degrading a fellow the may be different any negative. With fan base of the they should be little more responsible. You can abuse someone even without using "bad" words.
@lokeshdharmani7744 жыл бұрын
What is the point of talking about sexism, when you skirt around it for 7 years, not have a well thought out question and eventually leave it to intention? The eve teasers' intentions are not to terrorise the girls or make them feel uncomfortable, the intention was just to have fun. The innocent sex deprived men whistling and cat calling just to have fun. Kapil might love Sumona and feel all respect and everything, but what you show as characters, of a husband making physical remarks on his wife, of wife slandering jokes, of how they are difficult, slowly and gradually paint wives and women at large as dimwits, who can be joked around and reduced to decorative pieces who are either always complaining or controlling. It then normalizes them as second fiddles, as unimportant people. So unimportant, that we can joke about them, tease them, cat call them and rape them because hey we are just having fun. Our intention is to just have fun. Sorabh says he spent weeks thinking about it...well give it just one thought buddy. Crime against women don't exist in vacuum. It's called a rape culture. Shows like Kapil Sharma (and perhaps this insipid and rather too verbal, dull interview) create the culture, making it all normal. BlasFriggingPhemous. Boils my blood.

@lokeshdharmani7744 жыл бұрын
@@shashmital5521 not at all. There are no problem with husband wife jokes. But there are two things. One. You should be mindful of what these jokes do to one's culture. How it presents our women as whining creatures, as people we can joke about and get away with. It's this humor, like I said, forms the culture where crime against women gets nourished. Secondly, you can't base your prime time show on wife slandering, racist jokes, always punching down instead of punching up. And yes you are right. We should ditch jokes if it means any kind of bad treatment towards our women. Humor vs rape, you choose.

He very clearly tells that when it comes to content being delivered to the public there is a gap between the intent of the joke being A but the action of the joke on the public being B. And there he very intelligently explains that for a joke to be a good one this gap between the intent and action should be minimum. Nobody watching your show knows that after delivering the dialogue Kapil laughs and says ki aare yaar mujhse kya bulwa rahe ho, nobody watching it on TV gives a fuck bout that. Just for once please start viewing your shows as a general person and what impact would your joke cause to the psyche of that person and hence the society itself at large.

I'll say it, "intention" doesn't matter when the impact is much larger and way worse than it's "expected" to be (and the writers and creators of the show are well aware of this). Thousands of viewers everyday can't be expected to understand what their intention is and that they're doing some bit ironically. Frankly, no one cares what, let's say, Kapil Sharma does and thinks offscreen that much. All the people CAN see is the shows he puts out. I'm not saying they need to be 100% P.C. all the time but something that's sexist or homophobic that blatantly on television is seen by all kinds of people and the same kind of "jokes" are repeated by them unabashedly because if their idol can do it, they can do it. Check yourself, do better.

@@TheLowsofSolipsism he has good writers but he is also popular because of quick responses and audience interactions. He makes fun of the weak. But I dont think his jokes has enough depth to offend any section of society.

Such a shame that Sorabh was so lenient. Not lenient but so pretentious. What the efff man!!! Being advocate of anti-sexism and then in this interview he is almost tc-ing

Well why to put a person through sh*t when they come to ur show . It's easy to make fun of these things but doing it face to face isn't easy . Also she is not responsible for the entire show that's why he said I don't want to through u under the bus .

Sorabh pant is a comedian who is hell bent to push political correctness towards comedians especially if they are not his friends

I don't like Kapil's slapstick humour,but I fully agree with her. I remember you were calling kapil sharma sexist on Arnab's show which i dont understand . I mean what you new age so called woke comedians are selling as 'insult comedy' ,kapil is just doing that in a more massy kind of way
@mukulgahlot65514 жыл бұрын
12:59 That is in fact sexist when it isn't covered under sarcasm and people do condemn that too, ab aapke show ke neeche comment karne ka option nhi hota na!!! 'Aur bhi to kar rahe hain' cannot be an excuse for you doing it man!!

I Agee with Sumona that Stand up comedies are not clean(they are mostly abusive and double meaning).
@gagan771004 жыл бұрын
But thats fall under adult comedy.A normal talk between friends is abusive and double meanings.If its not offensive to other or a group for what they are it should be okay
@gagan771004 жыл бұрын
Like even calling a ganda nala as choti ganga that funny scene by vijay raj can be used as offensive to holy ganga.But the point is intent.If you joke about somebody being fat that is an intent for body shaming.
@rohitjaisingh94154 жыл бұрын
Gagan Singh Gill There is a difference between Abusive/Double meaning and Body shaming jokes,both are definitely wrong but the abusive content cannot be watched among family audience.
@gagan771004 жыл бұрын
@@rohitjaisingh9415 then why watch it with family all of them have disclaimers.Its not on TV that it will poop up.You click to watch those kinda stuff

Gagan Singh Gill It is really difficult to come up with Clean comedies and make ppl laugh and that’s why it has a universal appeal.

That's the sort of clusterfuck that happens when the episodes are made for no actual point. Either make it entirely a talk show or a comedy gig. I think SNL has a better approach by only featuring few comedy sketches in a year while primarily focused on the interview.

Really loved the interaction until the Kapil Sharma is funny part . No hate all love . But facts are facts .

There was a girl on the show he was interacting with - her name meant 'still water'. Kapil said - macchar ki kaafi problem hogi aapko. That was funny. As I said - sometimes he is :).

Dude, this Kapil Sharma does not write his own material but still does a commendable job improvising (e.g when talking with audience). See his old stand-ups.
