For 15 years of my early life, I basically spent every spare moment drawing horses because of that music and the imagery of black beauty running to the theme. I’m in my 50’s now and now can draw excellently. In art collage I was picked as the best life sketcher in my year of 90 students. My aptitude for muscle and bone structure is all thanks to this fine BBC program. I’m happy to pay my TV licence for all the great memories and even skills there programs ave given me.🥰

I'm knocking on 50 years old now, I remember this as a lad back in the late 70's early 80's (I was probably watching repeats of it then). I like to think the horse in the credits is really happy and enjoyed the shoot, it looks like it did. TV programmes with horses in them were some of my favourites as a kid. White Horses, Champion The Wonder Horse and Black Beauty. All with brilliant title music but particularly Black Beauty. Sometimes we even cry together as the music seems to evoke in us some warmth and magic from our childhood, to a time we both hold immensely precious. This is just stunning music. I loved this programme when i was a child,it gave me my love of horses along with Follyfoot. I was up near Stockers Farm Rickmondsworth where it was filmed the other day, good memories.

I was glued to this every Sunday l didn’t even need reminding what day it was on! That music and that beautiful horse galloping through the water made my day, I adored horses and had an auntie at that time with a horse she wouldn’t let me anywhere near. I was heartbroken as a kid just wanting to be near them. When I was 18 I did a YTS scheme at Foxes Riding School on the Wirral and became a fairly decent flat rider getting to ride 4 times a week! My dream had finally come true but certainly inspired by this TV series…..

What a beautiful music theme of black beauty,, gives me goose bumbs, l've read the book on black beauty, as well as I had watched the TV series, brings back alot of good memories that sometimes I wish I could turn the clock back to the 70s and the 80s were days were much simpler and easier, and Sundays to watch black beauty, man, those were nice times, I sure miss it. Maybe l'll buy the DVD at a special store to find out if they still have that good ole times of black beauty, I really miss it. 😢

Judi Bowker is right when she says there is not enough good programmes for children nowadays where are all the Black Beauties and where are all the children s drama serials like we used to get back in the 70 s like Kizzy and Break in the Sun and the Changes ? todays children are really deprived of good children s tv X

I don't know what it is?...when we are children we can't wait to grow up yet...when we reach a 'certain' age we long for our childhood again...I think music above all else allows us to revisit happier days when we saw the world as a simpler and far friendlier place and it might not be just a case of middle aged people drowning in nostalgia. A recent study has discovered that the 1970s was a watershed period and it was possibly the last innocent decade....so maybe it was a golden time after all....Stacy Dorning...I liked the horse but I liked you much more!....beautiful piece of music.

I think there was a lot on TV in the 70s that was very harmful for kids, but our parents protected us from most of it. That's my understanding now in 2021. (9 in '79)

I was 7 years old, when I saw the serie. Now tears are running up me face, it's such a lovely theme and I feel like I'm 7 again. I ever loved horses and this one is the most beautiful, I've ever seen. And how it runs over the fields with the beautiful movements..... I loved it so much. Which little girl doesn't love horses? Now I am 59.
