Yes and seymour is such a nice guy a lot of people think he is out for just the buck but that is not true ! he really loves what he does!

Check out the bass pickups as well, i bought an antiquity single coil 1955 p bass although it has low DCR it does the job nicely :3 just imagine if i would have bought the Hot one
@vonsnitchzel7357 жыл бұрын
DC isn't a measure output, but resistance. It can only tell you how much wire pickup has (if you know what gauge of wire has been used). mv is the measure of output, but there's no standardized way of measuring it...

Yes... but what are the differences between Alnico magnets?
@volkersessler89763 жыл бұрын
They are differences in the alloy of Alnico, Which means Aluminium, Nickel, Cobalt, and there are different calibrations what these magnetic poles can have, they get them after they are put in the coil.

Ernesto, I'm a guitarist. I don't really play bass. I get my pickups from the creamery in the UK.

This is funny that Seymour should mention Lionel train transformer years ago when Les Paul was alive I told him that it was the Lionel train transformer that got me into magnetism to begin with. Thanks for posting PG c];-D

Shit pickups use ceramics and shit pickups use AlNiCo. So what's the component difference between these and clear, good quality pickups? Finding concise information on this issue is like trying to dig up state secrets.
@garyabbot46597 жыл бұрын
B that's magnet stats. Like how alcino has way more flux lines in the field Compared to ceramic. So alnico probably pick up more harmonics, detail and sounds brighter, because the increase flux lines provide of that type of magnet, which give more sense of space. Just my own thought. Also alcino can be de-magnified easy. I think it's field is in a way easier to influence - I could be wrong, but you can see how this subject is weird

1:28 is bullshit. simple fact is different magnet qualities give different inductances. "string pull" my ass.
@U2BER20127 жыл бұрын
You sound like you have technical background on the subject. Seymour Duncan is a manufacturer of guitar pickups.I don't know that he has a degree on magnet theory. However it sounds like he has derived what knowledge he has by merely experimenting and maybe asking magnet manufacturers many questions about their products and maybe some reading on the subject? Just an observation.
@areyouavinalaff7 жыл бұрын
string pull is neglible at the distance were talking about. these magnets are generally pretty weak, just touch them with a screw driver tip and see... they don't pull strings that much at all
@lynyrddeville7 жыл бұрын
They have enough string pull to cause "stratitis", a symptom my very own guitar had until I lowered my single coil pickups. Oh, I guiss I should admit that the polepieces are magnetic slugs.
@garyabbot46597 жыл бұрын
Are you 'avin a laugh? Is he 'avin a laugh? I agree. Neck and bridge connections will effect sustain physically, where as magnets at the strength and range in guitar pickups won't. Even a ceramic magnets struggles to pull string nearly touching. It's a myth, and yet more guitar overcomplicaton in search of that tone 😂it's how guitar makers sell stuff. All the string does is move the flux lines in the magnet field. It doesn't have to interfere with the actual pull on the string in any way. Just like it doesn't have to be near the interference picked up.
@Chakirisan7 жыл бұрын
He didn't say pull in that sense, he said vibration within a field and frankly a good ear and experience, of which Seymour Duncan has a ton, is the most valuable quality in building pickups.
