Beautiful tone with the SD. Thanks for the fine demo.

I got the same jazz pickup and installing it in my schecter omen extreme and I cannot wait! Thank you for demonstrating the difference

Just ordered the Jazz neck to combine with Custom 5 bridge in a Harley Benton Les Paul clone - this video helped confirm I made the right choice! Jazz neck sounds cleaner and more expansive than the stock one it replaced, I think it will be the same case with my guitar.

Def the SD, but i do like the distortion out of the stock dinky pu's due to the less high end clarity for some situations. Is that you on the jazzy intro outros?

What where those classical pieces from the gain samples you played? Very nice playing 🙂👍🏻

The jazz is very clear & articulate. Noticeably bright, but that’s why we have tone controls!

Idk man. I like the stock pups better. The jazz sounds too sharp and bright.

Nice video straight to the point SD is a clear winner

Thanks 🎉 The original pups lack an amount of clarity . The Duncan sounds very bright . But that can be dialed in , I‘d say

Great job with your comparison. I would add that with a lower output pickup like the Jazz. Perhaps raising the pickups hight would be in order. Take care.

Oddly, the Jackson sounded more mellow and sweet for jazz, and R&B, and the SD more clear for distortion, ha. I got too many guitars to be constantly swapping pups (although I occasionally do), so I got an original Seymour Duncan signal booster pedal for output (up to 25 Db), and a couple Boss GE-7 pedals for EQ'ing the frequencies. A lot of it is just signal strength and frequency emphasis, right?

I'm looking for some new pick-ups for my Jackson. I think I might of found them. I've been reading how the SD Jazz is a good match for the SH-4B and I tend to agree. It is brighter than the stock Jackson but with tighter bottom end, but not muddy and mid range which gives it a more balanced sound.

Wow.. That SD Jazz has that really nice almost Nasal Hollow quality that sounds very close to the highly expensive/collectable Gibson T Top.. Would work in the Neck for a Larry Carlton tone or in the Bridge for a Jimmy Page Zeppelin T Top tone.

Seriously, if you really think the stock pickups sound better, please stop looking for alternative pickups. It just won’t make any difference for you.

I think anyone can agree the SD’s have better clarity than the stock Jackson pickups.
