Looking back the revolution of Gay Pride is a joy in the world . Got to revolution . Peace on earth. And Party on... I am proud of my Gay 🌈 relations . Proud of all the sons, daughters uncles and aunts sisters and brothers mothers and fathers who are honest and and beautiful just as they were made. Amazing Grace . Thank you Gay Pride for your joyous spirit. An honest world is a better world.

This is an amazing historical document! The parade is so beautiful and the people attending it seem to be having the time of their lives, but there's a bittersweet feeling to this footage. Many of those marching, as well as probably hundreds in the crowd, have been dead for decades now. People from my generation should read more about how harsh the effects of AIDS were. And I had no idea that Brazilian Carnival was already popular in other countries in the 80s

Glad you enjoyed the video. The Mission District in SF hold a yearly Carnival celebration that is very popular since it started in 1979.

Brings back memories. My first Pride parade was in San Francisco in 1990. I came out in 1983, but had never been to a Gay Pride before. Seeing the hundreds of thousands that lined the streets and had no idea that so many participated.

I bet one could still afford to live in SF back then.

I would respect these type of lgbtq people No disrespecting No mocking any religions No wearing girls cloths Just a normal gay person

The "gay" issue has been turned into the trans issue and has overall hurt the movement. It should be considered a different issue entirely.

Good memories of what gay life was like during that Era in San Francisco but my question is: How many of these people are still with us ? AIDS wrecked havoc on gay men during that time period. I feel blessed that I survived that time period. In brotherhood.

Very few of my friends from that period made it and that's why I feel sharing our pictures, videos and memories are important.

Shocking to realise that everyone is literally white,.. No blacks and foreign looking people. I say this as a Pakistani person, not racist just a realisation.
