Wow didn't know Gade held up so well in 2011. It's almost like we call him a legend for a reason huh

Amazing performance from Gade. He pushed Lin Dan very hard. Both went all out!

Looking back you know Lin Dan was godlike in his prime
@lmelc4 жыл бұрын
This is him out of his prime. His prime was 2008-2009 where he was completely unstoppable and unbeatable by anyone in the scene. He's still a very strong player after but 2011 was most definitely not his prime.

@@lmelc out??? His prime was 2008-2013. If 2011 was not his prime, why did he get gold medal olympic in 2012???
@KeithHiew4 жыл бұрын
@@lmelc I somewhat agree. I think from ‘04 to ‘07 he was great, already the best player in the world bar the odd defeat by Taufik, but not in beast mode yet. China wanted to be sure he’d win Beijing ‘08 and brought in Tang Xianhu to activate his “prime”, “godlike”, beast mode from ‘08 to 2010 (Beijing Olympics, AE ‘09 and TC ‘10 were good examples of him being “prime”). Then from 2011 onwards, he was still by far the best player, but decided to play a slower, stroke-based game like Xia Xuanze, probably with the intention to lengthen his career. So you see 2011 SSF (If I’m not mistaken!) and AE ‘12 were him playing a slower game, but still more than good enough tactically to slowly squeeze the life out of his opponents, like freaking chess player, instead of just blasting everyone off court like Olympics ‘08. The AE’ 12 semi against Taufik was such an example and an absolute pleasure to watch.

@@lmelc this was still his prime. He just plays smarter instead of raw physical plays. Edit: If anyone is way out of their prime, it's Peter Gade. Not since his double knee surgeries in 2002 and physically downhill from there.

Good thing video angles have improved over the years. Always seeing the same weird halfway birds eye view for every point gives no sense of space, speed, angle, direction, anything.

Gade could have been a lot better i mean look back at his early 2000s match even then he doesn't have a smash that can put pressure on his opponents.

Super intense game, yet Lin Dan looked emotionless? He didn’t celebrate any point, didn’t look disappointed with mistakes and barely celebrated at the end of the match. There wasn’t even a slight glimpse of concern in his face throughout the match. I mean, in the third set at 12-9, he even signaled PD that he would willingly pick up the shuttle although it was on the other side (which by my experience, is extremely rare from him). The game was neck to neck yet he looked like he was playing a practice game.

Actually that aint a jersey, sorry bro. Facts: "A jersey is an item of knitted clothing, traditionally in wool or cotton, with sleeves, worn as a pullover, as it does not open at the front, unlike a cardigan. It is usually close-fitting and machine knitted in contrast to a guernsey that is more often hand knit with a thicker yarn. The word is usually used interchangeably with sweater." -Wikipedia

From what I know you should never naively refer to Wikipedia for an answer as it's never accurate. People all over the world have been adopting the word jersey. Let's not deviate from the norm, unless you choose to. You're welcome and have a nice day, SIR.
