I think that's whats makes him so good. Daigo seemed a lot more patient here from the other fights I saw against Momochi..he's definitely adapted to his Akuma.

actually if you watch past daigo vs momochi matches youll notice that the setup momochi went for was that daigo would dash forward after the focus absorb like he did last time but daigo knew it was coming and shot out a super

this was a frickin amazing match, blew me away! EX hadoken focus cancel into Ultra was ACE.....but Momochi's comeback, stringing that combo together to take the win was magnificent.

Daigo was actually reversing the sweep. Momochi just thought the demon would go through the super.

totally agree with u @Splurgendii you practice the trap for the ultra common trap is hadouken and perform the ultra as your enemy jump in ( you can buff it with crouching mk for lowering ur hitbox)

@sasukesuu, you cant jump away from his super if its executed next to him, also, the timing on demon isn't especially hard once you have shortened the move down to 3 fast inputs (shortcutting) rather than doing it jab jab back light kick PPP. it can be inputted just as fast as anyone else's ultra. and if by timing you meant because he has low invincibility frames, players on this level are so ridiculous hit 1 frame links so consistently(pLink), know the matchup, + practice = rarely missed ultras

It looks like Daigo learned a new way 2 used his special....If u think about it MOMOCHI has a huge disadvantage,A kuma has low stamina,his attack don't do much damage,+ it's almost imposible 2 land his special..& yet he still manages 2 beat all the top players....BRAVO MOMOCHI UR A TRUE WARRIOR.

definately, but seeing the new trailer today, ryu's new ultra being a rehash of his super in 3S just makes me think akuma will be getting some special too. raging demon going through fireballs would have solved momochi's problem there.

low forward + hadouken, that's Daigo. His timing is exceptional good, which gives Momochi (a great player) no chance at all. We are not at his level, we are way below them.

some of you say daigo spams hadokens, but if one spams it, then its easy to bypass them, its how you use it and clearly daigo knows how to without getting punished but momochi's moves and his ultra

@bogosse02200 i see what you're trying to say. His playing style isnt always like that however. He does have some matches that he gets really creative and doesn't rely too much on hadoukens. When justin wong switched to Boxer to counteract his projectiles, he had to stop spamming them. He usually does unpredictable stuff to catch his opponents by surprise at times. He plays smart, but sometimes he has the guts to take calculated risks. It's why he's that good

That's actually wrong. Momochi's main base of set ups is that sweep. He saw it coming and punished him for it, he didn't think back to his last matches in a split second to reveal the counter like some cheap cartoon network anime. It was the spur of the moment.

You can cancel the roundhouse into the Ultra. If you time it right it goes through Ryu's super and catches him, but Momochi timed it way too early.

Look at this balance. Akuma's ultra does something like 590 maxed out. It has hardly any invincibility, and is pretty hard to land. Sagat's ultra does about 580 maxed out... and you know the rest. They gotta make the ultra more practical in ssf4 who's with me?

it can go through the super if you time it right at the very last second just before the super fireball hits akuma. but the question is by that time, will ryu have recovered anyway to just jump over the raging demon?

Lordofdark1062 : you have to do lp, lp, back, lk, hp after the slow motion of the super, meaning he pulled the HP the frame after the super, he maybe had 2 frames to choose when to press the HP but all in all from 7.25 to 7.35 there are just reflexes! you can't do any other human reflexes faster than that

@bogosse02200 His style changes depending on who he's facing against. if its a projectile character, that's when he usually does spamming, since both he and his opponent do the same thing. if you want to see his matches where he tries really creative stuff, go look for his casuals. He doesn't really care that much when he loses there, so he tries different things. You should also check out when he started using guile.

Yes, yes it can - I have done it several times by accident. Accident meaning I tried to bait with fireball (they jump over) ultra and they perform an ultra - the RD passes right through and nails them. Personally I think its a glitch because it makes no sense for it to happen. We can't even pass through a normal fireball but can Ryus ultra?

Start up frames are what Fireballs can go through, though I'm not 100% if its true for Goukis Super, but I know Ultra for sure. So if momochi timed it a little better he could have landed it.(I think)

@bogosse02200 he's not spamming, he is playing to ryu's strength. if he just mindlessly spammed, he would get beat easy. look at all the top ryus, they do the same thing. its this zoning that makes ryu a top character. if a ryu player neglects zoning/patience, and rushes down without a knockdown, he is making ryu a low tier character. he would get destroyed by bison, rog, sagat, chun, honda, guile etc. fireballs are essential to ryu and his zoning. people who whine really dont know anything.

ryus can have awesome combos, just replace demon flip kick with a jumping med/fierce, and akuma's BnB with srk or srk into ultra hard thing about ryu is that he doesnt do much dmg, but all that is compensated through most of his moves being able to combo with ultra

Lol are you serious? Akuma has the best Damage output in the game because of his mixups. You can't focus when he has ultra because you can cancel any of his normals into it. Akuma is probably tied for Ryu for 2nd best character in the game. lol...
