people keep talking about how Diago adapted and not understanding the star of this video is Dhalsim. That character is ridiculously hard to use compared to Ken. This was crazy impressive what he was doing with Dhalsim and people are just looking right past that. fan mentality!

I have no experience of SF6, SF4 was the last one I played. I watched a lot of SF4 tournaments and I am just back for some SF6 to get updated. When you say hard to play do you mean link, combo, special execution then it is generally not a main concern for a professional tournament player... at least not most of the time. But if you are talking about lack of options, especially matched with some type of characters like close distance, aggressive ones such as Cammy, Akuma, etc... that one I can emphasize with. I also admire players that play partially handicapped characters. But, I have a different angle to offer to you, Daigo wins all the time mentality is a hell of a mistake and as time passes more and more. I root for Daigo just because of guess what... for his age handicap. He is just 20 years older than most of his challengers and this is certainly not a game for the old

OP is 100% right, it's tough for Dhalsim to land 30 hits even at long range to Ken's 10 hits at medium range. Much less do that 5 times in a row (including 2 perfects!) against one of the best Ken players!

The reason why Daigo is called "The Beast" is not only because of his ruthlessness or calmness but also his adaptivity to different opponents and fighting styles, and ability to evolve against his opponent during the match. That's why he almost never loses in long matches.

Back in the original arcade SF2, I used to piss everyone off at the arcade with my Dhalsim. I'd play for 2 hours straight and no one could knock me off. The only character at the time that would give me fits sometimes was a very good Guile. Ken and Ryu were the easiest to defeat with Dhalsim.

What a stressful match to watch, I feel as though I was in it. As a Ryu main, I take a deep breath every time I see Dhalsim come up on the screen. I know I'll need all my patience, all my attention, all my carefulness, and all my mental resources to deal with him. You gotta play the long game, and punish every mistake consistently. By the time I'm done, I just feel spent. Such a hard match-up for Ryu.

Why ryu over ken? What does ryu do better?
@HaggenKennedy
@HaggenKennedy Жыл бұрын
@@lessonman_3961 Hm... well, I don't know that Ryu DOES anything better. I can tell you Ryu's fireballs can hit Ken's tatsu (whereas Ken's fireballs do not hit Ryu's tatsu), for example, there are a few things like this going on. But I play Ryu because I've been maining him since 1992 when I started playing SFII. I like the lore of the character, his story and mythos. I like his style, his journey of self-improvement, his respect towards adversaries (whom he sees not as enemies, but opponents who can teach him something even when he loses a fight), his take on life, and his personal philosophy. Personally, I just relate to him more. But there's nothing wrong with Ken, I've played, and play, with him from time to time, he's fast, and aggressive, great if you want to apply speed and fierce dynamics to your gameplay. But I ended up maining Ryu more for his character and overall style. Doesn't mean he's better. In fact, often it's been the opposite: historically, Ryu has never, I think, been considered an S-tier character in the SF franchise.

Well he literally has it all. Teleport, grab, hover, fireball, his kit doesn’t end. If you know how to use him like this guy you can really put the pressure on and not let them breathe. He is hard to punish so he can just keep attacking because some of his moves act as passive defense. And the reach on this guy is not fair imo.

Dhalsim is at least A tier if not S. He's very technical but has tools to answer everything. He just needs to time his spacing right and many of his pokes are + if placed correctly.. not to mention his magnetic throw that felt like it's sucking you in.

There is no tier list anymore bc of SF6. Any character can win. They all have pros and cons and are all fairly matched depending on how good the user is. Perhaps there are less talented users for certain characters but all the characters are capable.

Daigo studies and fights real time. Dhalism guy was impressive too, but he plays a certain way where it just looks like he’s memorized how to cheese. Even though Daigo lost, it felt like he was the better player. Sure, he choked at match point, which is something he has been doing more over the years. But it didn't diminish the fact that he demonstrated real-time adaptation, reads and discovery of better answers to Sim's moves like an anime protagonist.

Ken has to do too many things to get into Dhalsim. And Dhalsim just needs to use his long distance pokes and teleport out to escape or in to do a combo. It feels unfair for Ken, who needs more skill to win these matches, but a win is a win.
