How do you input charge input mid combo? I’m new to SF and I don’t understand

The easiest way is to hold your lever/d-pad/stick down back. This way you won't be walking backwards when charging. As soon as you press a button you also press forward+punch or up+punch. The trick is getting used to always holding down back during the animation of other moves to keep the charge going.

You need to do a slight walk forward. St.hp is not cancellable on max range unfortunately
