In Dead Space, no one can hear you forget the title. I didn't notice the ice solution as a contrast to the fire solution, so thanks for pointing that out. Definitely a strength of the script where it's about character problem-solving rather than writer plot-solving. I only really noticed the latter when the alien growth went too quickly. Loved that we got to see the pupa stage though. Not sure if that was in any of the comics or games, but it answered a question I always have when watching the first movie.
