To be completely honest, the dialogue and interactions actually work in a canon way. If this actually happened to the survivors, Nick would probably be the one to put the rest of them down as an act of mercy, before taking his own life. This rocks, homeboy.

I saw a SFM short film about what would happen after they got rescued by the military helicopter at the end of The Parish. They were taken to this stadium only to be executed there. Nick was the only one who managed to survive and he then proceeded to bury the rest of his group after the encounter. He then went on surviving on his own.

The way Nick apologies to Ellis and moments before he dies he says "we're cool" that means No matter what Nick said to Ellis he still cared about Nick And also Nick saying "Goodnight Rochelle..." That made my heart sink (also this game is childhood and I love all of these characters to bits) then Nick's classic scream that has been use at the very least once in every L4D SFM video and over all this was a great sfm

It makes sense that Nick is the one to kill them to prevent them from experiencing a terrible fate. Nick has a strong will that is very useful for making the hardest choices. He's able to make some decisions others would either take time to think on or wouldn't know what to do. It's part of why I love Nick so much. He can be a dick but the guy does give a shit about Rochelle, Coach and Ellis. Respect for this man.

I could see this being a kind of ending where they got stuck at the bridge in The Passing, but the original survivors had already departed to the Keys. Nick and the others would be stranded with no way out. Once the car was out of gas and their ammo ran dry, this would likely be it. And that's horrible to consider.

I like how late into the game's lifespan this has arrived. You sorta watch this ending with all your memories with these characters at the front of your mind and it hits harder. I do consider this to be somewhat of a canon ending, where the L4D2 Survivors either never met the L4D1 Survivors OR they died prior to this scene and they fled in the car. You can't run from a dead world.

Holy fuck. I’ve seen the ending to the movie this is inspired from yet this was almost tearjerking. I’m amazed at how genuine this felt. Despite the stark contrast in mood from the ass kicking feeling of Left 4 Dead to the dreadful and depressing feeling here, you somehow still made it feel as if this was actually from the game. The only thing I’d say it’s missing is Nick dropping to his knees and screaming in both anger and sadness as the infected come for him, but I understand that was left out for cinematic purposes. Incredible work.
