Very well animated my friend. The lip synching was absolutely spot on and I also really enjoyed the various bits of animation even if it was somewhat dark and kind of mindfucky, but you get that with Silent Hill.

This has personality and was well worth the effort. Most animations lack personality, but this is jam packed with it. I like to think my SFM stuff is also fueled by personality, but I don't animate near to this level of smoothness while I'm at it, (mostly cause I'm lazy :P). Bottom lime; this definitely goes to show just what can be achieved with SFM. Not just good animations; but rather good animations and the personality to make them really feel alive.

Егор Гирко A good idea goes a lot further than a good animation. Or let me put it this way; anyone could spend 10 months animating this to look this way, but only you could have spent those few minutes to come up with an entirely unique way of portraying everything and making it work in the way that only it does. Argodaemon's an awesome and god-like animator, don't get me wrong, but I don't often see him make anything truly original. Most of his work is a reference to something like FO:E or the MLP show. Which isn't a bad thing; I just don't see him come up with a flood of personality in his works often. It's the main reason I picked up SFM; I wanted to make stuff that meant something; not just look good and have no meaning. (Again though; I'm not dissing Argodaemon or pro animators like him. They have their own reasons for doing what they do).

I agreed with you about idea and meaningfull in movies, but a lot of ponies in sfm videos looks like a robots, without life, for example: Ed Plus. Sometimes those ponies looks like very slowly thinking, smiling without reasons and (it hard to explaine in not native language) then pony turns head, this bone turns in opposite way and just after that turns in the right one. Remember valve videos "Meet the ..."? This characters moving like real people, and then i making ponies, i try make something like that and ofcourse it takes time. Then make videos in flash, from each autors, his works have an originality, for example: Rainbowdash presents. His specialty was an opening jaw without lipsync, and i dont pay attention on that, because it like pictures on deviantart: faces of ponies and manners of painting are simple from one autor. But 3D changes a lot: you must imagine ponies like a real animals, they must blink, yawn, breath, even if pony stand on one position, she dont stand like a statue, make let she looks on her waches, shift from one hoof to the other, maybe she angry, because of somepony, which she waiting. Each pony is a personality, like you and me.

I get what you mean. My ponies aren't fully animated like that, but with camera angles and making the "right" movements I bring out what they're feeling at that moment within the plot/story. I also use music to drive the story and the songs' lyrics add emotion to make them even more alive without even really doing anything. All in all I am doing more actual animating as it gets easier and I don't struggle as much, but I still doubt I'll ever do intensive animating like this. It takes too long for one thing, and secondly; great animations just aren't needed to drive my stories. My animations are fueled by emotion and story, and that's exactly the way I like it, (Maybe because I'm lazy? Who knows XD). Even so I still enjoy seeing others like yourself put in all that effort and reach ends like this which I'll never reach myself. It's just not my style to go the distance like that; at least where animating is a concern.

Do you saw at least one episode of American dad or Family guy? Scenes of that movie dont need more characters, which it have on first plane. I mean, on backgrounds can be empty street, because other people is not involved in the plot. Story - most important than others. So, you just make videos in this way, not because you lazy :).

The fact if you pay close attention this is just Pinkie and the others having some fun pretending Silent Ponyville is real makes it all the better. Also Pinkamena looking at Silver Spoon after throwing her glasses into the hallway like "Go on. Go get your glasses now." will never not be funny.

У меня появилось пару минут дополнить свое мнение об этом видео. Ну, уникальность этой анимации в том, что она "живая". Хз как это называется, но иногда кажется что твои анимации снятые на HD камеру в 1000 fp/s ;). Именно это и занимает больше всего времени. За счёт этого анимации выглядят очень мягко и плавно. Отдельный поклон за полное отсутствие повторения кадров. На моменте 3:17 самому холодно стало, настолько реалистично передан пар изо рта и дрожь главного героя. Вообщем, это очень не знаю как тяжёлый, но долгий труд. Может быть и я скачаю sfm и буду радовать мир хотябы такими проектами, как " Шрек против Гитлера: битва за болото".Теперь я отъебусь от тебя и не буду заебывать своими коментами. Удачи, братишка.

+heather edmonds Hi, Fluttershy =). I create a map in Hammer World Editor, google "graffiti online", to make a texture on background. Add created map to session in Source Filmmaker, add Pinkamena and other models to scene. After all, add a little bit of unicorn magic.. (pony models starts breathing. THEY IS ALIVE!!!) Derpy wrote a script, Pinkamena taught a lyrics.. all of the ponies have started to make a video. Make for 10 months, yup. If seriously, first of all is an idea. Before map, before textures, before all of handwork it's a work in you're head. You imagine a video. Then you start making, you must know what and how you will do it. Second is a lipsync, before other animations ( it's will be hard if pony moves). After it, let's pretend, this model is a real animal. (Imaginaaaation =) ) She don't stay in one pose like a statue. Animals are moves, blinking, and anything else. In each second viewer must interested what happens in next. Try use less often animation cycles, it shows your laziness to viewer. Background ponies must moves too, its your chanse to make a some humoristic moment under back of some character. Do a copies of your work. Dont try to make it fast, try to make it harder, and you can make anything what you want =)
