this is absolutely incredible! konami just needs to give you the rights and let you run with it. i can’t imagine how long this took you, but your efforts weren’t wasted by any means. i’ve never seen a fan made silent hill video that has impressed me as much as this did.

With such a small audience, I just want you to know that comments like these mean so much to me. Thank you! Gosh, I'd love to run with this idea, haha! I've often thought of creating a short series based on this idea, of course with a much higher production value; I'd need voice acting for Heather, and the other characters, etc. I also recently invested in motion capture which would help emulate the feeling of the games as well.

Thank you so much! I don't really ever respond to comments much, mainly because I don't have a lot of time to. However, this comment really stood out to me and I just wanted to say thanks, and that I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! Perhaps this won't sound egotistical, but imagine if the story I presented in this video was actually the story of Silent Hills, were it not cancelled. It certainly would have been really cool.

@@outlawentertainment5842 I think I still would have prefered the Story of Silent Hills to be separated from Alessas storyline and go in a different direction. But it was really fascinating to see how you put those together, I never even thought about a connection of Heather/Cheryls story and the one we got teased in P.T. And that is really cool, I agree with you on that. :-)

How did you make the fog? And can you make fog in SFM a wall (a barrier) between the outside world and Silent Hill-type areas? Meaning like there being an invisible barrier holding the fog on one side?

Thanks for the question! The fog was split up into two parts; one being fog baked into the map, and the second being simple fog particles within SFM. In regards to the fog being utilized as a barrier, it's technically possible. Not with SFM entirely, but using some camera trickery and cheeky editing, it could be pulled off seamlessly. :)

I've actually been writing an outline for a potential series, I've got all the story beats laid out and know exactly how I'd want to progress the story going forward. I've got a few projects I want to finish first, though, just to have a clean slate before starting a massive Silent Hill series. I think I want it to be a three part series, with each episode being roughly around 30 minutes or so. It might be a while before I start production on it, considering it'll require a lot of voice actors, and also the expenses of motion capture, as I'll try my hardest to emulate the feeling of the game's realistic cutscenes.
