Might I point out that lex's eyes turned back to their normal color. And if the turned back then some of that mind control serum may have wore off for now. And did you notice that he hesitate to pick up the gun? Then that means deep down he still cares. And in the last one he didn't hesitate to bring him in dead. So my guess is that when he got punched it must have been so hard and finally knocking some sense into him.

Luis wouldn't kill Denny btw The pink/red haired octoling is Luis: He is a half monster, like his brother he was created for revenge by Dolly. He's closest to Denny as him and Denny are best friends

So, Lex says he can feel that Luis is suffering. Can he just feel that Luis isn’t himself, or is it because it causes Luis physical pain when this happens, which Lex can then feel because they’re twins?
