Thanks very much ! If you have an error with ld.exe ("skipping complete" for instance) you must reinstalled sfml because there is a problem to binaries (32 et 64 bit) Then if "undefined reference" (or something like that) you installed too a sfml isn't for you. Take the version with "GCC" Good luck !

I have an error popping up, regardless of the method used to create a sfml project. Entry point not found _ZNKSt7::cxx1112basic_stringlcSt11char_traitslcESalcEE5rfindEcj could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\...\sfml-app.exe Installed VSCode (working fine with other projects, not sure about third party libraries since this is the first one) Installed minGW 8.1 64 bit (version I usually use) and minGW 32 bit 7.3.0 (compatible with SFML, downloaded from SFML 2.5.1 download page) Made sure that the compiler I use with VSCode is 7.3.0 (g++ --version) "g++.exe (i686-posix-dwarf-rev0, Built by MinGW-W64 project) 7.3.0" Used the SFML tutorial example on: www.sfml-dev.org/tutorials/2.5/start-vc.php (green circle on black screen) (works fine until now) and finally: double click on sfml-app.exe And this is when the errors pop up. Additional info: I am using Windows 10 x64, VSCode, SFML for 32 bit. VSCode is working fine for me, compiled dozens of projects without issue. This is not the only time I tried using SFML, the previous time was about a year ago, but then I had the #include //no such file or directory exists. I am probably giving way too much details, but after 8 hours of my life spent on this, I want the solution as fast as possible. Thank you in advance.

I solved it..Its because i tried to be clever and give my file a different name, I called it FirstExample.cpp , i modified the G++ command to so where main* was written i put FirstExample, seemed harmless, but got winmain error, so i thought it must want to to be called main and it worked

At 4:30 in the video, I used "g++ -c main.cpp -I"C:\Users\(my name)\Documents\Libraries\SFML-2.5.1\include" and it says, "'g++' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." I have tried adding C:\wingw32\bin\g++.exe to my environment variables but I still have the same error message? I have tried adding the program to System32 so that it can run the executable from there as well and it has not worked. I am on windows. either you did not install the c/c++ compiler or you did not add it to your system environment variables or you installed mingw-w64. So if you are using mingw-w64, you need to call mingw32-make instead of make. if you are using mingw or msys2+mingw-w64 you should add the bin folders to the system environment variables to be able to run make. type gcc --version to make sure what version of gcc you have (can be 32bit or 64bit). Redownload SFML according to your needs (either 32bit or 64bit) and I recommend downloading GCC 7.3.0 MinGW (DW2) or GCC 7.3.0 MinGW (SEH) - 64-bit.

Probably it is an error with your compiler, try reinstalling it with this tutorial kzbin.info/www/bejne/hai0oJWbm6tgn6c and then do the SFML setup again, must works :)
