you can meaty a stand heavy kick if you read a backroll, and only be at -2, if the crush lands you are at +6 after dash, meaning you can link st. mp, cr. hp for more dmg and pressure, so while it isn't that great in the neutral, it is pretty good for fishing buttons

Does ed have a decent overhead? Whats the best tactic against someone who crouches a lot and is defensive? AKA those pesky charge fighters

Nah, not real overhead. He can do an instant overhead kind of thing but it's only really useful for last-hits. If someone is being very defensive you have to throw them really and then build a gameplan around throwing and throw-baiting with shimmies and what have you.

Sorry about that. "s" means standing, "lp" means Light punch. So it overall means standing light punch.
