Guile has defense. He doesn't need vs1, and vs2 make him a character with defense and pressure, sending the opponent to the corner a lot easier.

I'll have to look back at the replay to see exactly what I did but if I was spaced right, I was able to walk under the VS2 boom for a punish. I would like to see Lucia next. I still have no idea what the purpose of her non-run VS2 is all about or why I should sacrifice VS1 for it.

Yes you can, I main Guile and VSkill 2 is weak it only hits for 40 and nothing but trouble for Guile.

@@wurlbfree1981 Yup, "unfinished" is the perfect word. Her VT2 (using VS1) robbery combo isn't that much weaker than G's VT1 (using VS1) robbery combo, plus she has potential for two of them per activation (and its two bar). I believe the run version of VS2 is either plus or neutral on block, projectile invincible and can combo. I have a feeling that's the part of VS2 they really want you to use. I get the feeling that the non-run version of VS2 is a throw away move they had to put in there because VS1 has two versions.

Guile is defensive. So is Menat. That is why they both have the longest combos in the game. 40+ hit swag combos equals defense. Duh.

dont worry vskill2 is easily punishable and for you to even get the chance to have full bars in the corner and do the combo its not worth it and rarely happens

its worth noting that in certain situations against characters with a smaller crouching hurtbox that VS2 can actually be plus on block. A good example is ken after a boom sequence in the corner

I assume for timing. It allows you to time your practice more effectively rather than an instant action or the action following a walk or jab. You can also buffer the command in the air.

Guile is one of the few characters in SFV that have both Vskills and Vtriggers been awesomely GOOD, he is blessed. Both Vskills 1 and 2 are amazing and also both V triggers, is the only one I think you see people switching Vskills and Triggers depending the match up, most characters will maybe switch Vtrigger or Vskill but usually one of the 2 sucks, not with Guile.

Both his vskills are good not great. Vskill 1 is good for players who are more defensive and vskill2 good for offense. Both can be punished if abused. Wish the pushback on vskill2 wasn’t so far on block though. Guile can’t really follow up with anything if he spaces it properly and gets plus frames on block 😕

Like giving Cammy a loaded gun with unlimited ammo and projectiles that hit you in the same frame the move was executed while knocking you down.....cause freedom, ya know? Why does the titular turtle of the game need offensive pressure? He's a charge character for a reason. you shouldn't be able to be the best at keeping everyone out AND pressure like everyone else all at the same time. Especially when you literally have an offensive counterpart to him in the game who should have gotten the skill instead. Akuma main btw.

Cause he's nerfed....cause he's weak....Right? Also having tools isn't the same thing as having a great one. I can try and cut grass twelve fucking ways ranging from scissors to those hand mowers, but the gas lawn mower everyone uses these day is the best fucking option only outshadowed by a riding lawn mower. When was the last time anyone used his more open than your mothers legs teleport (That shit's beyond free mind you)? when is he not played using the exact fucking moves every shoto character has? Hell isn't Ryu played more than him? If Akuma was just that fucking great at pressure people would play him like EVERYONE played E.Ryu in SF4. like....guile is the 4th most played character atm.......MFs don't stick with weak characters....no one likes losing.
