Love these videos Mir you are the man! Another topic that was brought up in the comments below(how to instant command grab with Gief on the ground) would make for an excellent video or series covering various shortcuts in the game, like Sim instant air teleport/flame, Gief instant air spd. I know Vesper put up some videos last year for buffering charge into super and a couple Ryu shortcuts, but expanding upon it would be good, as the shortcut videos have helped me a ton on my journey to being a competent fighter. Most importantly, understanding why these shortcuts work in the game is good knowledge for the newer players coming in with Arcade Edition

how to stop it? GUESS RIGHT... that's it
@bridgeburner9096 жыл бұрын
Exactly, I came here hoping for some kind of new option select in season 3 that I didn't know about haha. It's useful someone new to the game in that it is informative but offers no real way to 'beat' the scenario. The only way to win is to guess right and an unpredictable attacker is more likely to read what a defender will do than the other way around so 70-80% of the time you're screwed.
@no_nameyouknow4 жыл бұрын
As he said in the video there is more to it than that. You have to use the correct risk/reward choice depending on the situation and position and who you are fighting against. Sure, you can just say guess right, but there is different levels of "right" here.

@@no_nameyouknow bro against characters like r mika who can trap u in the corner with command grabs on block stun and air command grabs u just get 50/50'd into a stun and die. Most characters dont have a wakeup to stop it either. Sfv is garbage
@megaman20994 жыл бұрын
The problem is that characters like alex have slow frames in wake ups and guessing is the only way to get out... Soo the game in that moments is more like a lucky moment. The problem with sfv is that there are so many 50/50 situations, more than other sf ever. Yes i play the game and like it but that situations of guessing happends so many times in this game and some times thats irritating.
@no_nameyouknow3 жыл бұрын
@@anyfightinggamezfine69 Fair enough, well not the garbage part, but yeah 50/50s are a part of many fighting games. I mean, all the best players will tell you that there is a risk reward balance to consider but at the end of the day you do have to make a read. Grapplers often have weaker options at range, which balances them out. I struggle against these characters myself otherwise I wouldn't be here, again after 10 months lol, of course I haven't really been playing this whole time. Honestly I forgot I even watched this video. Nice talking to you again.

To some degree it is but wait till you play a good Alex who is waiting for you to reversal them and will then bait you. You then think the only way out of the situation is a neutral or back jump then they lariat you which gives them a reset to where you are in exactly the same situation and if you put out a button against that lariat that isn't an invisible DP you get crush countered. All ways round you are buggered against command throws if your opponent is good because if you pick the wrong option you lose a huge chunk of health and are in exactly the same situation after. Pick wrong twice and you are pretty much stunned. An easy situation to beat against the predicable attacker, truly awful against someone who is good.

Monkey D.Luffy Start with forward and end on up back. Boom standing 360.
@TNB126 жыл бұрын
Newer SF games recognize when you're trying to go for a 360 motion and allow you to cut it short, letting the move come out if you start the motion from, say, holding back and pressing punch when you're about at up-forward. You can do standing command grabs pretty reliably in SFV and SFIV, although the 720 degree motions still need to be buffered during a dash or any other animation that can't be jump canceled.
@Harlec6 жыл бұрын
Search for "SPD zangief shortcut" here on KZbin and you will find a lot of info. It's quite easy to learn it.
@mccheong72886 жыл бұрын
There is no need to do a full 360. You only need to input 4 directions to do the command grab. You can press controller forward, down, back, up (or up back will also work) and then punch button. There is no need to input forward again to complete the 360. You can also skip the input of diagonal direction like forward down. In fact the order of the direction inputs is not important also. Input forward, back, down then up will also work. This input is my short cut to an instant neutral air spd .
@ultimateman556 жыл бұрын
As others have said, it's not a 360 degree motion. It's actually 225 degrees. That's basically a yoga flame motion plus 45 degrees. Typically back to up-forward or forward to up-backward does the trick.

Command throws are about conditioning your opponent to block then using command throws to open up juicer options in crush counter combos. It's really just a guessing game, is he going to throw me? or is he going to try and bait a jump/button press? However the conditioning can work 2 ways, if you get in a situation where you have to guess you can rip that right out of their hands with a meter reversal. This tells your opponent that you're not afraid to risk getting countered b ig time and that they need to consider you may just let it rip. I've let reversals rip 3 times in a row just to let the opponent know i'm that fucking crazy and they should ALWAYS be warey of the metered reversal. It's basically wagering a good portion of your life to potentially slow down their offense at a later time when they may be thinking you'll let a reversal rip. If you wanna see this in action just watch punk vs Jyobin. Jyobin constantly is willing to use metered reversals even when he gets caught to let punk know at all times he is not afraid to let it rip.

Punished for teching a throw ... annoys me to no end. SFV needs more defensive options on wake up.
@Drebin19896 жыл бұрын
The defensive options that were in previous Street Fighter games for whatever reason people hated them. Whether it be parrying, focus attacks , whatever. People were saying those options were too good or too good for certain characters and some other bullshit. Now all of a sudden people want defensive options
@blackblurable6 жыл бұрын
Regardless the characters that have no invincible wake bs or options at least need it. Who said the shotos, sonic crap guy and those need that shit? Give to those who have nothing. Purely offense and a few characters like Vega have nothing and everything is punishable with a almost useless v reversal. If tourniquet says he’s harder to use then there must be with his nerfs. Not to mention no AA’s like wtf, you have to work and be super offensive and play mind games literally
@Drebin19896 жыл бұрын
@Prince of Darkness a little word of advice. There will ALWAYS be characters like that in any fighting game. Hell some invincible wake ups you’re better off not using. Even the good ones will get you in trouble if you’re reckless with them or you’re playing against someone that knows how to get around them. At the end of the day much like any fighting game you have to play smart whether you want to or not. Even if you’re just playing for fun. Also either find a way to get around such obstacles or pick another character to play with.
@chocoboblue996 жыл бұрын
I don't mind No AA. That was super annoying to deal with even if I had the option to do it too, so I just rather see no one have it. I do agree that every character should have a limited invincible reversal option on wake up. They can't do it all the time, but limited is fine. For those moments in the match and you can do it, but really what you?? I wish I had a DP around with. But, I don't have one, so whatever he was doing during the match to win, he just going to keep on doing it till I die because he ain't scared on nothing on wake up.
@Drebin19896 жыл бұрын
If you keep getting hit by a wake up attack or AAs every time you knock your opponent down that’s on you. If you keep falling for the same attack that’s definitely on you. If your opponent does a wake up attack about 2 or 3 times in a row chances are they’re going to do a wake up attack every time they get knocked down and you’re near them.That’s probably the second easiest pattern to pick up on behind someone that likes to jump a lot . Either be prepared to block or find a way to trick them into doing one and punish them. Like I said you have to play smart. You have to recognize things like that.
@evalangley39856 жыл бұрын
Normal grabs are stronger than command grab as it is in this game. Throw loops in the corner are a punish setup that you cannot break unless teching a throw while a command grab... You jump neutral, v-trigger cancel and combo... et voila.
@anyfightinggamezfine694 жыл бұрын
Yeah this games broken been using this advice and it barely helps. Get 50/50'd having to expose myself to get comboed regularly just to get 50/50'd again. Theres no real interaction its just guessing which doesnt take skill to be guessed to death on hard knockdown. This game is trash
@ZachHenke6 жыл бұрын
I don’t think I’m alone in saying that it seems like way too many characters in sfv have a command grab.
@PSMii6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, at first it didn't bother me because most of the characters that had command grabs at the start already had them in other SFs if they were returning characters (except Vega). Now you have Blanka with a random command grab tacked on, command grab V-Triggers on Alex, Bison, and Rog, and lets not forget all the command jumps that give you a throw variation like Sakura and Zeku... its kinda getting out of hand.
@MeechJacobs6 жыл бұрын
I still believe Capcom should make characters with a command grab unable to tech normal grabs. Characters with a command grab AND a projectile is just fuckin' ridiculous.
@ZachHenke6 жыл бұрын
Meech Jacobs That would totally suck. Characters without an invincible reversal would only be able to back dash or jump to beat meaty throw. I just think that most command grabs shouldn’t have any throw invincibility. And characters like Blanka, shouldn’t have command throws at all.
@MeechJacobs6 жыл бұрын
Laura is fuckin' ridiculous. LOL
@blackblurable6 жыл бұрын
You say no invincibility and I cry that I play Vega as he works for me over other characters thus far. Everything is stupid punishable, no wake up options, his v reversal is shit (and in the corner is pointless) and most crap is no real anti airs. The hell is that about? You literally have to work with characters like him and more so against spamming zoner types. I do agree though to many command grabs and shotos. Now ninjas I bet will make it on the scene. Let’s see Yun, Yang, Fei Long, Maki or Makoto and I know lots like Oro and Q with Guy even Rolento or Adon. Elena would be a trip to see but idk about her lol
@DomoArigatoMrRobaito6 жыл бұрын
I know this probably won't be taken seriously but here it is. Command Throws in this game are terrible. If you have a read on your opponent IE: Prediction. On top of that every command thrower (Except Alex and he's considered Low Tier,) has an armor move or set of armored moves. Their anti air abilities are insanely good and they have aerial moves to cover the read, reaction jump.. which means you guessed wrong. Jumping back gives them a crush counter... but I suppose they lose oki? Command Throwers worked when they were slow and had huge damage. Too many of them can combo now, have incredible anti air options, ranged command throws, armored moves, and great reversals. The old formula of "They're slower," doesn't apply in a 2d space with all of the additions because being slower means nothing in a 2d space. You either back yourself into a corner... or go into their grab range. More egregious is SFV's fireball nerf, stripping a way to widdle away life. Avoiding command grabs boils down to pattern identification and guessing. Most of the command grabs in the came cannot be reacted to. If you guess right, great, you better have guessed right in the way that lands you close enough for a full punish. If not the thrower will do as much damage if not more, meaning that the very threat of the command grab is a near greater threat. Just my two cents, though. I think the video was a great idea but it proves in my opinion what the issue is. Nerfing the recovery on command throws helps the highest level players perhaps. However the fact that you can tech a throw, block a strike, jump over a fireball without having to guess, makes command throws + (All other additions to the throwers, like armor) a chore to deal with. Unbalanced? I don't know or care. Just unfun to fight is enough.

Third strike is an overrated piece of shit. No combos,impossible execution for a controller and also,impossible to get into when all you do is straight hits without punishes with characters other than shotos that are easy to combo with
