Is it being the second-winningest QB over an entire decade to arguably the greatest QB to ever play the game. Is it breaking more records than Mothers Against Rap? Is it having the 4th-highest career passer rating in NFL history? Is it having the most efficient December passing stats in NFL history? Is it averaging 3,000+ yards passing, 500+ yards rushing, and 65%+ completion% for his first 8 years? Is it having the highest career 4th quarter passer rating ever, and the highest career passer rating on passes of 20+ and 30+ yards? Is it having more game-winning drives than any QB in NFL history for 9.5 seasons, being the fastest QB to 100 wins in NFL history. Is it being the first QB since Michael Vick to pass for 3,000 yards and 500+ yards in a season? I could go on and on about the stuff Russ has done, but the guy owns more records and distinctions than anyone in the league outside of Aaron Rodgers, and has broken multiple of Rodgers’s records! When you regurgitate narratives you had better have evidence to support them. Justin Fields doesn’t have more “upside” than Russ. He simply has THE POSSIBILITY of playing more years because he’s younger. Those are two very different things. If I had to bet on whether the greatness of Fields’s next 10 years would exceed the greatness of Russ’s next 5, I’ll bet on Russ’s next 5, and I wouldn’t even blink before doing it. Russ can still go to new heights over the next 4-5 years. He’s 35, not 45. Justin fields + Russell Wilson = JustRuss!

You obviously don't remember that game. While Fields number look great he had two crucial turnovers. The fumble resulted in points and the int sealed the game. Fields stop scoring with about 19mins of game time. The last time the bears scored was with 4:01 mins in the 3rd.

The best thing that could happen for the Stealers is Wilson gets them to 9+ games and then they re-sign Justin Fields (as a backup) if they like what they've seen off-season. That way they can have negotiating leverage to sign Wilson for another 2-3* years. I would say potentially draft another quarterback in that duration of time, but this is the Steelers.

I know there’s significant bias against Justin on this show and he admittedly has issues reading defenses, holds on to the ball too long. Here are some facts to consider about Justin: He’s had two different HC. He was thrown out there without any support, no receivers, no OL, poor Coaching, yet he turned a 3-14 season to 8-9 which should’ve been 10-7 were it not for HC miscalculations. Show me which other QB tripled the wins in one year with as little support as Justin had.

A short leash on Russ will only mean a presumed shorter one for Fields. Once you bench Russ for Fields, you cannot go back to Russ if Fields sucks, and putting in Kyle Allen at that point is risky because Shaw you will have played three QBs. THAT could at the very least put Mike Tomlin on the hot seat for the 2025 season if it doesn’t get him fired, new contract or no new contract. This is why you have to give Russ a long leash. James Jones says there’s a leash. I can buy that, but it’s only going to make him play better, but there are media and fans ready to call for Fields the first time Russ throws an INT, and that’s total bullsh!t. Russ needs to be comfortable in there, and there will be growing pains. The NFL did Russ and the Steelers a huge favor by backloading their schedule, and I believe they did it on purpose. One more note: Russ doesn’t have to be paid a bag by the Steelers because he is being paid $39M by the Broncos, who wanted to hang onto Russ for another year, btw. They benched Russ in efforts to lose the final two games and move up in the draft, and they only cut Russ because he refused to defer his injury guarantee for an additional year. That guarantee could’ve cost the Broncos $100M. If Russ would’ve deferred, they would’ve kept him for 2024. He would still be in Denver, and he didn’t want to stay in Denver! Get it right!

Im am a Steelers fan and I know that the winning percentage Kenny Pickett has is based off of the defensive performance from the Steelers. In all the wins he has except 1 win against the Raiders, which I believe was the Immaculate Reception 50th Anniversary game, Kenny Pickett has thrown 1 or no touchdowns. 5 of those 14 wins, he threw 0 touchdowns. That means the offense is getting points by field goals to win more often then not. Dont take all stats at face value. Edit: If there's a change to QB1 midseason, no SHOT it happens Week 11,12 or 13 to go into the hardest remaining schedule in football. I imagine if there is going to be a QB change it will have to be by week 6. Right before or after the Raiders game. If the bye comes and there's no change, whoever is QB1 is finishing the year. So I would agree with Acho that if Russ is the reason we lose, they will make the change by either the Cowboys or the Raiders.

Why Steelers should give a chance to 30+ year old QB who's at the end of his career a chance to get another pay day rather then to see what young QB can do/show you and probably solidify your QB room for years as they might just keep running the ball with Fields/Harris/Warren and occasionally let Fields throw that ball and let your D do the rest as Russel cannot run as effectively as he used to

Denver was still rebuilding and been through two head coaches in two years. Plus Payton was trying to get Russ to play like Drew Bree’s. Russ can’t just sit in the pocket. This new offense in Pittsburgh is going to be good and I can’t wait to see what happens.
