In 2019 the 49ers made the Super Bowl with a WR group consisting of rookie Deebo, end of career Marquise Goodwin, end of career Emmanuel Sanders, and Kendrick Borne with Jimmy G throwing them the ball. The 4 headed monster at RB had Matt Breida, Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr, along with Tevin Coleman playing the “Wide Back” role. The only person on the team to reach 1k yards in anything was Kittle (at 1053 yards). All backed by a top 3 defense. Now the 49ers have a much better QB throwing to a much better WR group, with a significantly better RB group, behind an average offensive line (only because Trent is so great), along with a top 3 defense. Aiyuk, while I’d love for the 49ers to keep him, is just a luxury. He’s not a necessity. It’s like a new car with all the options…while the heated steering wheel is nice, it’s not necessary for the car to get you where you’re going.

I think Brandon Aiyuk has earned a new contract and is a stand up guy for reporting while he and the team figure out where things go in the future. As a Chiefs fan who has to watch him eat on my team's defense, I can say that I'd be happy to have him with us instead of against us.
