If you are a top 15 QB you are in exceptional company. In 2021 there were 69 different starting QBs, putting him in the top 20%. There are around 90-100 QBs on rosters, putting him in the top 15%. I don't care what anyone says. To say you are one of the best 15 people on the planet, currently, to do something specific is a compliment. I agree though that based on his performance in actual games he is a top 3 QB right now! Of course position stats don't tell the whole story as it's a team sport. Such a subjective question, but regardless the dude is legit and that is what everyone is saying right now. The only people saying otherwise are either delusional or are thinking about franchise QBs and are thinking Brock caught lightning in a bottle and will fizzle out given a few seasons and roster turnover. Time will tell.

Let's say dak was back for the philly game which Philly was coming off a superbowl run would you say the same about Cooper Rush? They say dak is top 15 , put daks stats against Purdy. When has Purdy even shown in the amount of games he's played that he could even sniff putting up 4000 yards in a season. All sports media - talk about the cowboys even if it doesn't make sense. Put purdy in Washington, giants , panthers , falcons, saints , vikings, greenbay, Chicago, browns and so on and he wouldn't be anything in comparison. He has a stacked team with a top 5 head coach. Played 9 games and put up 1300 yards , double that and hes at 2600 and thats an extra game than anyone else plays. Thats still 1400 less than 4000.

As a 49ers fan, I tend to be very sensitive to any hateful comments towards the 49ers. However, I took the "top 15" comment by Micah Parsons as a compliment. If Parsons had said Purdy top 5, he would lose credibility and get laughed at. Even top 10 is a stretch. And top 15 doesn't mean exactly 15th. To me it meant somewhere between 11 and 15. Which seems quite reasonable and right on the money.

It’s Purdys ability to process and execute whatever play is given to him. It doesn’t matter if he has Shanahan or any other OC in the league. His awareness is what’s keeping him to good. His peripheral vision is top notch as well. He understands when to leave the pocket or stay in. He makes the OCs job much easier.
