SGC Submission REVEAL! Why Grade with SGC or PSA?

Love the was SGC cards look compared to PSA. Aesthetically just look superior. I have switched all my submission from PSA to SGC. Too many inconsistent issues with PSA, IMO. Feel like PSA is just antiquated.

I don't believe in collectors loosing money because of a grade. Reason being is it depends on the actual athlete or subject matter of the card. H.O.Fers are my favorite to grade and if I get a 8 or 7 I'll hold on to the card, I've been collecting for over 30 yrs patience is an underrated aspect to a collector. 10 & 9 make that money

The differences for me are the look of the slabs and the flat $15 fee. I don’t like how the PSA slabs/labels look, plus I don’t want to submit a bulk lot to get a good rate or buy into a membership. I appreciate SGC’s $15 flat fee. If PSA could just do that, and be competitively priced, it would make them tempting.

People need too start listing there cgc and sgc cards for the same price as psa..they are both better companies .psa only gets more money because people buy into there bullcrap..im listing my stuff from cgc at the same prices as psa .if people don’t like it ,they don’t have to buy it..

SGC is known for being tougher on grading which can be a good thing on a high value card. Also PSA aquired SGC so maybe standards will change in the future

An 8 is a good grade for the Nolan Ryan. SGC is pretty tough on vintage. They are much more lenient on the newer stuff.

5:06 that argument doesn’t work. An SGC 9 would sell less than if it’s a PSA 9 and SGC grades harder overall and PSA grades over the exact same grade in SGC is majority of the time greater.

Love the channel but you really should look to TAG especially for modern. Easily outselling BGS and sgc for modern plus slab looks so much better for all modern. 🎉

Wait, you said that sending to PSA at $19 and getting a 9 won't get your money back, but sending to SGC at $15 and getting a 9 does? That can only be true if a PSA9 and SGC9 sold for the same price, and they definitely don't.

It's all relative to the card getting graded.

@@mapopsports There may be some one-off examples, but by and large SGC9 slabs do not sell for the same as PSA9 slabs for any given card.

@@DerethAC @DerethAC There's a difference, but I wouldn't say a very significant one. Some of the most expensive cards ever sold in auction were in SGC holders. Mickey Mantle and Honus Wagner too. I think the Wagner, sold for 6.5, or 7.5 million.

@@ACD1994 I see this argument all the time and it's a disingenuous one. The only reason that the top whatever number of most expensive cards have been SGC graded is only because there have been no recent attempted sales of equivalent grades in PSA holders.

He's referring to business days. Because three weekends is 6 days plus the 10 business days plus shipping days, which is an average of 2-5 business days. I had the exact same result as he did
