In this video, Ásgeir talks about what it was like to grow up in small town in rural Iceland, his love for sport, and how injury and an encouragement from a friend and a mentor made him turn to music. Shortly after this, Ásgeir stepped into a real recording studio for the very first time to make what became Iceland's fastest selling debut album by a homegrown artist, an album that has now been translated to English by American musician John Grant, for the world to hear.
